I didn't, but then again I didn't think of him as a bad guy, and I was off by a long shot.

Maybe he feels like he's setting something right, maybe it's a twisted way to avenge Czerny's death. I mean, he killed his best friend, what would stop him from killing Gansey, who's looking for the same thing that he was, and is probably more successful than him? Let's not forget that Gansey is what Whelk uesd to be before his family's downfall. All that bottled up hatred could easily cause him to pull the trigger.

I kinda of got a bad vibe from him through out the whole book so I wouldn't have put murder past him. I didn't expect him to try and kill Gansey once he got the information he wanted when he went in Gansey's locker but at the same time I wouldn't have put it passed him because he's really obsessed with the lines and waking them up. I believe he sees Gansey as everything he was and wants to be again.
