The new East River Service / Brooklyn Ferry rocks my face off!
I can actually sleep on my way to work, or have a drink at the bar on my way home from work. I can look at sunshine and seagulls rather than drug-addicts, black gum-dots, and Bellevue outpatients. No more train announcements in my ears telling me there's mysterious "train traffic ahead" adding 45 mins to my route!
(One time I stood on an N train and the guy next to me actually did have jeans pulled up over what was clearly a hospital gown and he was also bleeding from a giant gash in his scalp).
Whereas this morning I had the entire boat to myself. Can you stand it?! A boat came and picked me up and took me to my place of employ and I didn't have to share it with a single scumbag from off the street.
Anyway here' s the 411, below. Maybe they'll even have a shelf for used paperbacks, someday on these ferries. There's definitely some unused space.
