Logan (loganw) | 3 comments I would like to do a group read and am open to suggestions. Some books I'd like to work through would be:
John Bunyan's "Holy War"
Thomas Brooks' "Heaven on Earth"
Or just about any of Owen's volumes.

Any thoughts?

Johnnie (berfer) | 42 comments Why the emphasis on Puritan works? Something more modern and relevant specifically would be better for me.

message 3: by Michael (new)

Michael (fisher_of_men) I'm game for anything, ancient or modern.

message 4: by Roger (new)

Roger Leonhardt (pudgyboy) | 4 comments I enjoy both. The puritans are harder to read but well worth the effort!

Laura | 124 comments One of each? On the modern side - how about one of Michael Horton's? Maybe 'Putting Amazing Back Into Grace' or 'Gospel-Driven Life'?

Jake Coyne | 4 comments If anyone is still interested and not aware Tim Challies does a group read from time to time and is starting a new one reading John Owen's The Mortification of Sin.

Jake Coyne | 4 comments Not at all we have finished chapter 1 and chapter 2 will be done this Thursday. The chapters are short so you should be able to catch up easily.
