Reformed Readers discussion

I would like to do a group read and am open to suggestions. Some books I'd like to work through would be:
John Bunyan's "Holy War"
Thomas Brooks' "Heaven on Earth"
Or just about any of Owen's volumes.

Any thoughts?

Why the emphasis on Puritan works? Something more modern and relevant specifically would be better for me.

I'm game for anything, ancient or modern.

I enjoy both. The puritans are harder to read but well worth the effort!

One of each? On the modern side - how about one of Michael Horton's? Maybe 'Putting Amazing Back Into Grace' or 'Gospel-Driven Life'?

If anyone is still interested and not aware Tim Challies does a group read from time to time and is starting a new one reading John Owen's The Mortification of Sin.

I'm in. Very good treatise on mortification of sin.

Not at all we have finished chapter 1 and chapter 2 will be done this Thursday. The chapters are short so you should be able to catch up easily.
