If you could only recommend ONE epic fantasy to someone, what would it be?

That is a hard one because there a so many good books that are epic fantasy novels. You have to give me some time to think about it. Although that was a pretty good and well thought out question for this group. Thank you so much. But let me think about seriously.

I say A Song of Ice and Fire, and my husband always says Lord of the Rings.

Harry Potter! Though I loved LOTR well as!!

I would definitely recommend The Door Within Trilogy in hopes they'll fine the hidden story.

Not one book, but a good series to start with: Terry Brooks Shannara books. (Or, if you are not quite ready to tackle something that long, look up Jane Yolen's Pit Dragon series.) At least, that's what I cut my reading teeth on.
