tough, but probably so far The Fairest Beauty just because i loved Gabehart so much. I haven't read The Healer's Apprentice or The Merchant's Daughter yet

Okay. Mine is Captive Maiden. For some reason i like Cinderella retellings. I have no idea why.

my favourite princess as a child was always Cinderella, but for some reason i don't like her retellings as much.

I always have loved Belle. Her retellings are not my type either.
That is so weird that we both think the same thing but with different characters!

I am absolutely in love with all things Belle/Beauty and the Beast related, probably because I think that I am more like her than any other princess. I think that's why, even though Merchant's Daughter and The Healer's Apprentice are both my favorites, if I had to choose, I'd choose The Merchant's Daughter.

Cool. I love all of Melanie's books so I have a hard time choosing!

I haven't read the first two yet, but if i had to choose between The Fairest Beauty and The Captive Maiden, I'd probably choose The Fairest Beauty even though Cinderella is my favourite princess.

You totally need to read the first two! They are so good!

I love the Captive Maiden! It is my favorite Melanie Dickerson book! I don't know why i loved it so much. I liked how it kept with the story but didn't use magic. I also just love romance!!:)

I am freaking out over the new Disney Cinderella! I am soooooo excited. Have you watched Harry Potter? If you have, did you know the actress for Bellatrix is the fairy godmother? That is soo cool. I have only seen her in Harry Potter and she is bad. I can't wait to see her play a good person!!

I love Helena Bonham Carter! I would have never thought of her as the fairy godmother, but she's actually perfect for it! And as for the Captive Maiden, I absolutely loved it! I love how fast paced the romance was, kinda like the actual story, but not TOO much like it.

I know. She is an amazing actress!!!

I cannot wait for the new Cinderella movie!! I hadn't realized that Helena Bonham Carter was playing the fairy godmother. She's going to do a crazy good job, I am sure! I last saw her in Les Miserables (fabulous movie, by the way)--she played another "bad" character but she was perfect for it. And I love, love, love the Harry Potter series! I could read/watch those stories all day long.

All, have you seen the previes for the new movie musical Into the Woods? It's a retelling and meshing of a ton of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Melanie, what do you think of this approach to fairy-tale retellings?

I saw it! It was so so twisted! But it was probably the funniest movie I've seen in a while,

i went to saw the Hobbit and while waiting for my sister to finish Into the Woods i saw the last 10 minutes of it. I don't think i liked how twisted it looked and how it ended.

I hate it when people spoil movies or books. It is horrible! I haven't watched the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, but i am going to soon!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't. To be honest, once I've seen the movie or one of the movies in this case, I have no interest in the book.

I love the book! I couldn't get into it the first time i tried. But now that i have watched the movies, i LOVED the book!

Maybe I'll try some day soon. I'm sure I could find it at my library.

My little sister got this book for her birthday (now we have two copies in the house!!) and she read it in a day and a bit and loved it. Now she's borrow all my Melanie Dickerson books and has read all but The Princess Spy and The Huntress (cus I don't have that one). Her birthday was a week and a bit ago :P lol.

haha idk. I'm actually trying to keep Goodreads from her because on my other group I've posted things that I'm fine sharing with you guys, but my sister would just hold them against me. So yeah, I'm trying to prevent her seeing any of those things!
