Rating: 5 stars!

Review: The book, The Iron Trial, by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare, is a fast-paced fantasy-fiction book mainly about a boy named Callum or Cal Hunt. Cal does not want to become a magician, unlike most other kids. Most would do anything to pass the Iron Trial, the entrance exam to the school for magicians called the Magisterium. Cal would do anything to fail the Iron Trial. But, Cal ends up failing at failing. He is then taken away from his dad to live at the Magisterium under the prestigious Master Rufus. Along the way, he makes close friends with his roommates Aaron and Tamera and learns things about himself that will change his life forever.
Many people say that this amazing book is just a Harry Potter ripoff. I disagree completely. When the book started, I could see the similarities. A group of three students, one very smart girl and 2 boys, who go to a school for magic. Then, it completely changed! There are many different things between these books like how in this book, magic comes from being able to access and control the elements. The plot twist at the end is also very different from Harry Potter! Speaking of the plot twist, the plot twist was fabulous! I never would have guessed that it would happen! I'm not going to spoil it, but it was great! The world building in this book was also amazing! I could clearly see the images they were describing in my mind! I also really liked the characters, who were not boring or underdeveloped! They had just the right amount of development and backstory for me to be very interested in them! I also really liked all of the action in this book! It was well placed and not over done!
In all, this book should be a must-read on your list! You should make sure to read this book if you like fantasy books about magic or if you are a Harry Potter fan! I look forward to reading the rest of this series, as there is 3 other books in this series. The next book comes out in 2018. I can't wait! I hope you enjoyed my review! And with that,
GOODBYE LEADERS, ACHIEVERS AND BOOK READERS!
