Team Tom Marvolo Riddle
Morning team!!!Of course the book I'm reading has no single word that can be used.
But, I can read Nefertiti's Heart by A.W. Exley which can knock out wither a N or an E.
[Edit:] Rereads only count provided it has been more than 6 months since you last read it!
I want the "U"!I will read The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K. Le Guin
and maybe (big MAYBE) The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell for "S".
both sci-fi I'm afraid, no suspense this week planned :(
The pic is not as scary as I thought it would be. They were scarier in the movie with all the smoke ? that surrounded them. Or my memory is lacking, that's also a possibility :)
ok just clarified with Karen that books can have been started before challenge start, that changes things a bit :)I am reading Chess Story by Stefan Zweig for "S"
& Heir of Sea and Fire by Patricia A. McKillip for "P"
hope to finish both in the challenge week as well.

Hi my Teammates, Riddlers!I am Ozana, Europe, Croatia, can't wait to meet you all.
Shantavia and Sonia, good luck as captains and our team co-ordinators.
So we got suspence for this week. I must check some books of that genre and I'll set aside book I am reading right now ( Dance of Dragons).
Any suggestions are welcome.
So we'll start tomorrow at midnight, in each country if I understood corectly?!
We must read one book each week, right or we can read more?
Hi Ozana!you can start books anytime but must finish in the challenge week, you can read more than 1 one book
◈ Once teams have read their genre name for the week they can "re-read" the genre name to gain more points (10 points per letter, but no bonus points)
copied here from the rules
Hi Ozana, welcome to our team! So, If I got this right, Christina can take the
S, U & P
Tory has an E
Sonia can take other S and an E or an N.
We can spell the word as many times as we want. As soon as one is done, we can continue with the other.
So, let's wait a bit more for the rest of the team to join. Till there, and till Shantavia takes on the ropes, my proposal is to read like banshees. All the pieces then fall together.
Hey there, just checking in.I am reading Killer Summer by Ridley Pearson which could be used for S or P, but we need another S.
It's a Suspense novel, but only 6 people have categorized it as such. Um, if all of us made it Suspense, we would have over 10...I don't know if that is legit, but it really is a suspense novel, the whole series is.
Sorry, I finished a book yesterday, and if I was thinking, I would've waited until today.
Hi,I just red the rules ( English is not my first language so I missed few things in rules section). I thought that I have to read book of suspence genre but I can just choose letter from SUSPENCE, right? If I read book of that genre our group will get extra points no matter of the letters. So letters that are left for me is C. I have a perfect book in mind of suspence genre
but it starts with S letter but I can start with any book and letter we can all agree.Have a nice Sunday!
Hi Ozana. First, don't worry, Christina & I are also non English natives, so, we understand. Second, we get extra points if 1 book is suspense, but the goal is to spell the genre - as many times as we can, for 10 points per letter.
Third, is Suspense and not suspence so, your perfect book can be used.
Hey guys! Sorry for not being here, I was a little busy. But everything is done so I'm here now. And I can't wait to meet everyone.
Ozana, we do need another S for SUSPENSE so I think that would work! Or a book in the suspense genre with at least 10 people shelving it as suspense would work.
Is SUSPENSE the spell it out word? Sorry I know I'm the captain but I'm still new to this.
Yes, we got the word of the week on message #14Don't worry, we'll help. I won't be much around today and tomorrow, but after that I'll help with any question you have. Or organizing anything.
Just let me know what you need.
And we can always snoop around other teams - to friendly chatting - or to see how they are organizing... it helps sometimes.
Fist thing I suggest is to send friend invites to all members - to be able to check shelves - and if the rest of the team doesn't check in till the end of the day warn Karen on the captains group.
Then we need a spreadsheet - I advise google spreadsheet so we can all see info - with some info to make it easier to keep track of books and letters.
Sorry I'm just getting a chance to check in. Just on the phone at the moment. Is there any particular book we still need to read either beginning a certain letter or a suspense book? Then I can see if I've anything to fit in for it
Any book read from the 12th on count. So, if you have any that fits, grab it! We can spell the word as many times as we want so..
I might finish Heir of Sea and Fire by Patricia A. McKillip for "P" tonight. At 9 the final of the soccer WC starts and if it's not holding my interest I might switch to reading again.
Great, than il'll start with S and suspence genre.Nice to meet you all!
Also I'll do letter C.
Is that ok?
*happy dance* finished 1st book for the wheelathon Heir of Sea and Fire by Patricia A. McKillip for "P" and already put on the shelf.
could we maybe have a spell-out like this by the captain?
S
U
S
P Christine Patricia A. McKillip Heir of Sea and Fire
E
N
S
E
to tick off what everyone has read in week 1? I have already lost the overview about who is reading what but maybe it's just me :)
No goal yet. :( Both are playing well, I would be happy with either of them winning.
how about each time we finish a letter, we pick the already posted and add ours? It may be a way of tracking ...I'll work on a spreadsheet soon.
OK, spreadsheet is done - link hereAs soon as we get the word completed I'll be updating it, just don't forget to tag it as read, with the reading date on the shelf you indicated on the submitting post.
Hi guys, Paula here, sorry it took so long to check in, I had the notifications turned off. I am reading Devil's Bride by Stephanie Laurens which I think counts for an S?? Let me know if I am getting the rules wrong? As I am on the other side of the world to everyone else I will most likely be the last to see anything so don't panic if you don't hear from me straight away. This is my first challenge from this group so I am super excited. I have friend requested a few of you so I hope to learn more about you all and I hope we kill our challenge :)
After Devils Bride which I should finish tomorrow, I will read Wait Until Midnight by Amanda Quick which is Romantic Suspense so can count as U as well as extra points for a Suspense novel yes?
Welcome Paula! It's nice to meet you! And yes you are correct, you aren't getting the rules wrong don't worry. :) glad to have you with us.
