Rod Horncastle It comes to my attention that many in this group may join because they see the word "Christian" in the group title --- yet have no interest or real passion for the world of theology or philosophy. (hint: Look at the books on their shelves.)

This is okay, but may affect greatly how much credibility I give to any of their opinions or comments.

I am noticing how Theology without Philosophy basically leads people to joining cults. On the other side: Philosophy with no proper theology leads people to joining atheistic-humanist Free-thinkers groups that DO NOT TOLERATE any actual free thinking.

Do comment, but I will check your Goodreads bookshelves for theological and philosophical variety.

Rod Horncastle I started this because of the many times I look at a comment or rating on Goodreads ----- and notice that the person has 1 book on their shelf as read. (laughingly - occasionally it is THEIR OWN BOOK.)

But also - I've seen atheists (and others) show up, hate one book, and never post again under that name. I've caught many Muslims doing this to Christian books. I find it rather amusing.

Robert Core | 1864 comments Rod - I've read thousands of books on all topics and only a smattering are on the Goodreads read list. I don't think you'll proceed far taking your present tack. However, I do share your concern that many here who comment come from fanatical positions unsupported by philosophical, theological, and, of course, scientific thought. I'm recruiting for Jesus' irrespective of religious denomination. Few here, I believe, share that open-mindedness.

Rod Horncastle Indeed, a smattering is a good sample. One is NOT.

People should at least include the Harry Potter series they just finished.

Robert Core | 1864 comments Rod - Ha! Ha! I must confess to NOT reading Harry Potter, but have seen some of the movies which I consider great good fun.
Of course, they're Biblical unsound but one doesn't always have to apply that standard to whopping good entertainment.
