The Scorch Trials
Reading this book, did anyone else completely not interpret it as a zombie story? Because I was completely shocked when I went to see the film and they took it that way. Anyway, what are everyone else’s thoughts? I just thought of it as a different yet deadly virus, not a zombie outbreak

I watched the movie a few years ago and thought this series was about people turning into zombies. I didn't get that impression in this book. Rather, I took it as people's body rot and they go crazy. After that, I'm not sure what happens to them.
I agree. In the book the people infected by the Flare were described as animals and insane. But in the book, they were portrayed as some out of this world zombies. I felt like they should have portrayed the characters more like animals, not zombies.
