When you add your book link it not only indicates you want to join the group – it indicates you AGREE that you are WILLING TO REVIEW ANY ALLOCATED BOOK within the set 12 week limit.

There is no genre filtering.

If you are only willing to review your own preferred genres then sorry, but you’re better off finding a group that specialises in your preference. Here you might be asked to review fiction/non-fiction, adults’/children’s books, a religious text, BDSM, or anything in between. Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate genre preference. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.

Let’s be honest here – we don’t all like the same things but we all want reviews. The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honourably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread:

I only use PDFs

PDF is fine Jerome. Reviewers can request other formats if available, but they have to accept at least PDF.

You are number 4 in this group, welcome aboard.

It's not the ideal file type if you're using an e-reader. But if there's not too much formatting, PDFs can often be loaded onto Kindles without any problem; I've done it.

Or you can download the free (and wonderful) Calibre program which will convert a .rtf into .mobi in a flash. :D

I use draft2digital to convert my word files to PDF, mobi and epub.
It also adds a table of contents, title page, copyright page, also by, author page as well as several other options. Works a treat.

I use Calibre too. For converting Word files to EPUB/MOBI, it's great, but it works a lot less well converting from PDF to MOBI. I've never come across draft2digital and will check it out.

I will find someone else for this group and you will be able to choose a later group that will be more suitable for you. If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement, or missing out on reviews, through no fault of their own. Remember that it's the author's responsibility to get your book to the reviewer. The easiest way is to friend your reviewer and send a message, or just send a message if you don't need or want to friend.

I don't advise posting emails here in the thread. Use private messages. This is a publicly-viewable board and folks can pick up those emails for spamming purposes. It's up to you, of course!

Send a friend request, and add a message saying what group you're in and that you need to know email address and format to provide your book. Thank you very much, Mike. The story is true, and all the people who appear in it are real. The third person provided the needed distance. Conversations were recreated to the best of memory, and only details clearly remembered were included. I googled genre, (nothing else seemed to fit) should I take it out of the description?

They did confuse me a little bit. But I did realize the story was basically true, so I would not worry about it too much.

The important thing is simply that it was a good, vivid story that helped the reader understand what that day was really like. I hope it's a success.

Hi Michaela, I've tweaked the reviews a little to make it clear that this is an actual eyewitness account. I think that's useful (though I agree with putting the account in the third person; I think that worked well).

I'm writing the second book in the series.I intend to write at least one book for each African country. You will get all the copies - no problem.
English is my third language,actually. God gave me the first which my mother didn't understand so she taught me the second.My country does everything the British way so I was forced to learn English but I like it. At least you and I can understand each other!
