Sharon Cox (bodleian) | 101 comments He made a new diary entry and he got to play in the snow. He's sounding good.

message 2: by Sara (new)

Sara | 4 comments Just read it. He’s so cute. I wonder what Dick and Shane thought of the snowman when they came home.

message 3: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Cox (bodleian) | 101 comments I am hoping for another update soon. I can just imagine him creating a snow angel.

message 4: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments A snow angel would be AWESOME.

message 5: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 156 comments It was cute how he inmediatly got the phone calls. They think about Gilli all the time it seems.

Hoping for the December entry soon :)

~ Lei ~ Reading Is An Adventure ~ (leilanilives2read) | 29 comments I've found the series educational in living with epilepsy. I know that throughout the series, I've looked up treatments and symptoms.

message 7: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 156 comments Yes me too!

message 8: by Mary (new)

Mary Pat I found his experiences with the condition and his meds helped me understand my sister's struggle with bipolar disorder and meds. The two conditions share similar types of meds, and for both, it is not a matter of taking the right pill. Finding drugs and dosages that work for the individual is an arduous and continuing process, as both conditions can change over time. She has attempted suicide and been hospitalized several times and hates her meds for same reasons Gilli mentions. It is a huge burden to be placed onto a life, either epilepsy or severe bipolar disorder. And you find as Gilli did, people, even loved ones defining you by your "disease", and struggle to maintain your identity as a person, not as an epileptic. So it is not easy to talk about and I think Gilli is very brave to examine all this in his writings. I also think his Daddies, even though they give him the best medical care available, have too little compassion for the limitations of life lived with epilepsy. As Gilli says, Shane forgets to be kind.

Still, it seems to me that they both love him and care about him a lot and I think he is very lucky to have them:)

Andrea | 156 comments This is an interesting topic for me, because throughout all his books I sort of find myself thinking "that was probly a good decision for Gilli", and "heartless bastards" lol By now, I'm convinced they love Gilli completly, but some decisions, or actions D&S have do come across as a little bit insensitive. Still, I assume being a domminant in a discipline relationship like theirs requires a modicum, basic understandind of a person's psyche, so my take is D&S should know why they do and say some things sometimes. I always try to remind myself we are reading one side of the story where the majority of the times we do not get an explanation from the Daddies...

good points, Andrea. I adore Gilli but do accept that he can be a little wild and irresponsible and I think that having the daddies - but especially Shane - is exactly what he needs. Who knows what could have happened to him if he wasn't in their care.

message 12: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments I agree. I love Gilli to bits, but I hate to think of where he'd be without the firm hands of Dick and Shane (more Shane,.actually), especially where his epilepsy is involved. I totally understand why Gilli doesn't want to let epilepsy define him, but pretending it will go away if he doesn't take medication, or if he can just have the occasional drink (personally, I don't think Gilli could drink moderately) might prove fatal.

He's posted a new entry fro Nov 2019.

message 18: by Erin (new)

Erin (erinloveshockey) | 20 comments SO AMAZING TO READ HIS WORDS!! Only because I have missed him so! Does he still answer emails? I can’t even find the address...

message 19: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments Gillibran_brown@yahoo.co.uk

He reads all his emails, but doesn't always reply. As he once wrote, he's a "crap correspondent".

message 20: by Mariana (new)

Mariana (mearias) | 14 comments Christmas card has been posted... Christmas location revealed, lol, hopefully we'll get more later.

message 21: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments I was wondering where they'd go for Christmas. Penney's - yuck! Maybe he can make her a fruitcake :-)

message 22: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments Penny's - no idea why I added the extra "e" in my previous comment.

message 23: by MiChElLe (new)

MiChElLe (mic0610) | 48 comments Oh no not Penny’s house - poor Gilli!

message 24: by Erin (new)

Erin (erinloveshockey) | 20 comments Poor Gil. I hate that he had to go to Penny’s. 😢

message 25: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 156 comments wow! at the part of Shanes's dad leaving some money to Gilli... at the end Gill won the old man's respect. Good for Gilli. Don't think that will happen with Poison Pen tho.

message 26: by Mariana (new)

Mariana (mearias) | 14 comments Yes! I really hope his Christmas isn't completely ruined by her. That Shane went toe to toe with her is both sad and fantastic. I really need him to finish Revs... at least it would be cathartic for him, maybe? hopefully? lol.

message 27: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 156 comments ugh yeah. I completelly respect his desition about writing but let me tell you i have never anticipated a book as much as Revs at this point is almost a phisical need lol

message 28: by Erin (new)

Erin (erinloveshockey) | 20 comments NEW POST!! Poor Gili!!

message 29: by Erin (new)

Erin (erinloveshockey) | 20 comments The old man left Gili money??? Definitely didn’t see that coming!! No wonder Penny is pissed. She’s a gold digging ass hole. I hope she gets crabs for Christmas (and not the kind you can serve as appetizers).

message 30: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Cox (bodleian) | 101 comments I have always felt the same about Penny - and I assure you that I am all for Gilli - but we have to admit that he has said some revolting things about her as well. Shane has pointed this out to both Gilli and to us. I think that we all need to read Revs so we can get more of the back story.

message 31: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments I was surprised that Shane's dad left Gilli some money as well. Count on Penny to make a stink about it! However, I'm glad Shane made Gilli keep it. I'm also glad that Shane insists Gilli come with he and Dick. If Shane let Gilli stay behind, I think Gilli would be relieved at first, but then it would start to bother him. I hope it turns out better than he thinks.
