Congratulations on reaching December! So we're having an ARCmas this month ;) and we're really lucky with the theme! It's...

*drumroll*

Fantasy!!!

I know I have a ton of fantasy ARCs, so you probably do too. So share with us - which ones are you going to read this month?

And now the links!
Keep your December ARCmas score here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

And share your finished reviews here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Meanwhile, please tell me if you've finished any of the books on the currently reading shelf - if you don't, I'll be taking those off next week. And also, of course, share your ARC reading plans here!

Sascha I succumbed to nanowrimo (which I didn't win) and fell off the face of the planet while trying.

I've never really gotten into fantasy so I don't think I have single fantasy ARC. Maybe I'll be tempted after I read others reviews.

So strange, I thought I was the only one, because everyone seems to like fantasy so much :D but despite not reading too much of it, I have quite a few fantasy ARCs o.o don't ask, I don't know how :D but I'm glad of the theme!

Lauren (Northern Plunder) (northernplunder) I picked up Undercover Princess which turns out to be fantasy and fantastically snooze-worthy.

There we go Day 1 and "finished" 1 theme arc after 30 pages.

I wish this could count towards the 50 points but it wont lmao.
I can't handle it. Its not well written and I ended up skimming some these pages too.

Definitely for a younger audience, different person.

H. P. (edsbt) | 2 comments I am going to read Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames.

Sheila G (pastthepostlude) Yes! Fantasy! Pretty much all of my ARCs fall into this theme. So I'll be reading 50+ books this month...

I wish.

Pretty much the books I said I would read in November, I'll be reading in December. They are:

Dragons of Dark (Upon Dragon's Breath, #3) by Ava Richardson - the third installment in the Upon Dragon's Breath series about a girl raised by dragons, and a world broke over its past over the dragon riders.

Firebolt (The Dragonian, #1) by Adrienne Woods - Another dragon-themed book set in current time, when the main character discovers dragons are more real than she thought after her father was killed by one.

Tides of Change (The Atlantis Chronicles #1) by Susan MacIver - A sort of Atlantis retelling, an underground realm come in contact with the world above, tempting a girl to dive into the ocean to die.

The Fallen Kingdom (The Falconer, #3) by Elizabeth May - The third installment in The Falconer trilogy, Fae hunter Aileana fights to defeat the Morrigan.

Descent (Son of a Mermaid Book 1) by Katie O'Sullivan - After Shea's farm in Oklahoma is desolate by a tornado, he's forced to move to Cape Cod. On the shore, he discovers a girl who belongs to an underwater realm.

Hopefully, I can add a few more reads to this list!

Mel (Epic Reading) (mel-epicreading) | 9 comments Almost everything I've got that isn't historical fits this theme!!
Currently working on Rebel of the Sands which is one of my top 5 oldest ARCs so exciting to be almost knocking it off the shelf
Also got The Infinite Now which is a bit of a slog and more urban paranormal than fantasy in some ways.
Then I'm hoping to get to The Last Namsara, Select and a Skinful of Shadows before month is out.
All fantasy YA that I'm excited to read. Especially Namsara.
I was at the bookstore yesterday and felt really bad that so many of my ARCs are already out and I have tread or reviewed them yet!
My New Years goal might be to just keep up before publication dates. But I don't know that I can catch up nevermind stay slightly ahead. Guess we will see!

message 8: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (Northern Plunder) (northernplunder) Oh i should reallyt pick up Last NAmsara too!

Bethan Hindmarch (bethanmay) | 14 comments Hi everyone! I've just started The Summerlark Elf

Enjoying it so far, seems like a proper old fashioned fantasy ^_^

I haven't done my state of my arc post yet, so I'll see what else I'll need to be reading this month ^_^

message 10: by Mar (new)

Mar at BOOKIVERSE (bookiverse) I'll try to finish Gilded Cage for like the 6th time LOL

message 11: by Sheila (new)

Sheila G (pastthepostlude) I'm adding another (probably will keep doing so as the month goes along because my reading habits aren't necessarily organized, lol). I'm just starting The Girl in the Tower tonight!

Wow, it seems like everyone has A LOT of books! (Me too xD) I started The Creatures of Will and Temper by Molly Tanzer (can't link, I'm on mobile) and it's so good! Stayed up late yesterday night... Way too late. But it's so good! Art and Victorians and demons and swordfights! Can't wait to go back to it tonight.

H. P. (edsbt) | 2 comments You guys, I did a bad thing. I requested (and received) ANOTHER fantasy ARC--Tales of the Thieftaker by D.B. Jackson. If you've never read Jackson's Thieftaker books, I highly recommend them. Basically urban fantasy in a pre-American Revolution Boston with magic.

I did finish a fantasy ARC last night. The Hidden Face, by S.C. Flynn. I still plan to get through Kings of the Wyld, along with Tales of the Thieftaker, by the end of the month.

Ooh, I actually haven't heard of that one! And congrats on finishing The Hidden Face :)

message 17: by Camillea (new)

Camillea Camillea Alrighty, so my December TBR goals are a mix of Indie books I received for review and ones I got from NetGalley. I'm listing around 12 books and really hope I can get to them in time!

The Clockwork Dynasty by Daniel H. Wilson
You Bring the Distant Near by Mitali Perkins

Oh my gosh wow, that's a lot :D

Sam - Spines in a Line (spinesinaline) | 10 comments The ARC I read this one actually fits the topic, totally by accident! It was Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant, all about killer mermaids

I read the prequel last month (no spoilers below! this is revealed early on)
It involved a ship lost at sea so now another ship is trying to set out for the Marianas Trench and figure out some answers

Evelina | AvalinahsBooks (avalinahsbooks) | 219 comments Mod
Woah, killer mermaids :O
