message 12: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 517 comments For translated mystery I suggest Death on a Galician Shore set in Galicia in northwestern Spain. This is the second in a series by Domingo Villar written in Gallego about police inspector Leo Caldas. You don't have to have read the first novel to enjoy this. It's won several literary awards. And for Brazil I agree with Carol's suggestion of Dom Casmurro.
