The Acts of the Apostles and the amazing demonstrations of God’s love and power as recorded in that great book of the Bible are so fascinating to read and study. There are many wonderful truths to glean from the writings of the Disciples of Christ, and I hope others will be blessed by this testimony.
Acts 8:26 “And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

Acts 8:27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

Acts 8:28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

Acts 8:29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

Acts 8:30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

Acts 8:31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Acts 8:32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

Acts 8:33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

Acts 8:34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

Acts 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Acts 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

Acts 8:39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.”

The Ethiopian was reading from Isaiah 53, and he did not understand who the prophet was referring to, but God's Spirit sent Philip to be there at just the right time to explain this passage to him. Not only did the Ethiopian man readily received the truth, but he greatly desired to be baptized.

Please consider this important passage that many Jewish Rabbi’s discourage their students from reading, as it describes Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who fulfilled all that is written about the Messiah of Israel.
Isaiah 53:1 “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

Isaiah 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Isaiah 53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

Isaiah 53:9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Isaiah 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”

Consider what God revealed is the prerequisite or precondition to being baptized into the body of Christ, when this man from Ethiopia asked the apostle, “What doth hinder me to be baptized?”
Acts 8:37 “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

Just as Jewish Rabbis would like to diminish the importance of Isaiah 53, because it proves that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, many translators of the modern versions of the Bible have either added a footnote to Acts 8:37 or they just delete it altogether without any explanation. And it’s all because the Devil wants to remove, or try to hide, the “condition” to becoming a Real Christian.

May God rise up faithful men and women of God who will proclaim the Truth, without compromise, to a lost and dying world that desperately needs the Messiah of Israel! And then, I believe, that’s when God’s people who truly love Him will “be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49), just as when the Holy Spirit was given to the church some 2000 years ago!
Ephesians 6:24 “Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.”

During the holiday season, people all over the world start thinking of and missing home. Many people travel thousands of miles to be with their families to celebrate the holidays.
Are you missing home? How far are you willing to travel to get there? Are you anxious to see your father? Your brother? I am, I have lived in the same county all of my life but I would have to go a great distance to be home. My home is in Heaven and I long to see my Heavenly Father and my adopted brother, Jesus.

Philippians 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;

2 Corinthians 6:18 And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

Matthew 12:49 And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!

Ephesians 1:5-6 In love, He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved.

As you travel home or receive family into your home this holiday season, take a moment and reflect on that glorious day when we enter Heaven's Gate and Jesus is waiting there to welcome us home. Can you imagine what it would be like to have Jesus welcome us home with a big smile and great big bear hug? I don't know when I will meet Jesus but it is nice to dream of meeting Him at Heaven's Gates and being able to give Him a big long hug. It would be great to see Him dancing around in excitement because we have finally made it home! Most likely it would be me dancing around in excitement while He patiently waited for me to calm down...that might take a long, long, time. I am excited just thinking of that day. I pray that I will see everyone I know in Heaven and I pray that you and your family will be there too.

Invite your family, friends, and neighbors to church this month. Pray for them. Maybe, just maybe this will be the year that they hear the call of Jesus and are adopted into God's family.

Walk with Jesus and may God's blessings rain down on you.

Dane Miller WEDNESDAY DEVOTIONAL: What Does God Require of Us?

It has been my experience that when you ask Christians what God requires of them most times they don’t know the answer. They typically pause and think about their response and sometimes the response is a hodgepodge of their feelings mixed together with a few scriptures here and there.


Now on the flip side, if I ask. What do YOU require from God? This list is easily known from the top of their heads and with the ease of a moving lip we can blurt it out. But shouldn’t this understanding of what is required/expected be a two-way street? With us being the creature fulfilling the requirement expectations of the Creator as priority.

(1) WHAT DOES GOD REQUIRE OF US?

Micah 6:8 (NIV) 8 “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Act Justly: God wants us to treat men equally, carry about ourselves in a righteous and holy manner.

Love Mercy: Jesus told his disciples that blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy (Mathew 5:7). In essence, the more you give is the more you get! I don’t know about you, but I always need mercy from God. For the very thought of foolishness in my being is sin in his eyes (Proverbs 24:9). Just as we need mercy from God, Christians must give mercy to others. For our approach must always be mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13). One level higher than this is what Micah instructs as a requirement, that we must “love mercy”. Not love to get it only but love to give it just the same.

Walk Humbly: Just as God gives more mercy to the merciful He gives more grace to the humble. James 4:6 (NIV) 6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” (Psalms 138:6; Proverbs 3:34; Proverbs 29:23; Mathew 23:12; Luke 1:52; 1 Peter 5:5).
Think about what Jesus did for a moment. He left all His glory and splendour in heaven and came to this decaying earth. He chose not to be born in a king’s palace, not even a simple inn, but in a manger (stall or trough from which animals were fed) and to simple parentage. He didn’t come with the beauty of King David (1 Samuel 16:12), but formed with unattractive features (Isaiah 53:2) so that men would frown upon his countenance. Jesus humbled himself and went through great prosecution and pain until the end (death- Philippians 2:8) for us. If our Lord could have given up all his greatness in heaven and embraced such a low state on earth; who is me to think that I should exalt myself to be something when God requires that we empty ourselves to become nothing.

(2) WHAT DOES GOD REQUIRE OF US?

Another prominent scripture for understanding what God requires of us is found in Deuteronomy:

Deuteronomy 10:12-13; “12 And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to observe the Lord's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? When we do what the lord requires it is primarily for OUR OWN GOOD.”

This scripture is loaded, and time and brevity will not allow me to expand. However, I would like to underscore the need for us Christians to love God with all our heart and soul! Anything less will amount to cheating God of our love, especially when He holds nothing back and gives all of His.

CONCLUSION

As parents when we birth our children and they are not living up to our expectations how do we feel? Or for the creative among us, when you engineer or artistically create something, and it is not functioning as expected what happens? Well what happens is, we try to fix it and if that fails we discard it or distance ourselves from it in some way.
I thank God that He is not like man who is quick to discard or give up on his handiwork. But He is longsuffering towards us and is rich in grace and mercy. (2 Peter 3:9; Ephesians 2:4). But this does not mean we should take our God for granted and serve him unlike what he expects.

If we don’t know what is required them we don’t know what exactly to give/present. As followers of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ we MUST have a clear understanding of what is required of us in God’s eyes and execute it.

MORE ON WHAT GOD REQUIRES OF US

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."

It is our duty to Fear God and keep His commandments! It is what is expected from us, it is what God also requires of us!
To fear God is to recognize Who He is. He is the Lord of Lord and the King of kings. Fearing Him is knowing Him, and if we know Him, we will have a reverential trust and hatred of evil; we will know how to live for His glory, and living for His glory is the wisest thing we can do, because we are created for His glory. That's why the wise king Solomon wrote, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom..." Proverbs 9:10

To keep His commandments is obedience, which is better than sacrifice according to the Prophet Samuel 1 Kings 15:22
And His commandment was summed up by Jesus into two: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Mark 12:30-31
If we love God in sincerity, as my Dear Friend C repeatedly reminds everyone, we will DO everything to make Him happy and honored, and we will NOT DO anything that makes Him sad or angry! His glory will become our priority, and other things will just become second.
And... if we can do what God requires, indeed it is also for OUR OWN GOOD! to the glory of His Mighty Name!
Amen!

Jesus had just finished the Passover meal with His disciples, and Judas had already left to join up with the religious leaders who had been consulting with one another as to “how they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill Him.”

May these beautiful words that Christ Jesus prayed soon before our LORD was to be crucified, encourage you to faithfully keep the word of God!

John 17:1 “These words spake Jesus, and lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that Thy Son also may glorify Thee:

John 17:2 As Thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as Thou hast given Him.

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent.

John 17:4 I have glorified Thee on the earth: I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me to do.

John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify Thou Me with Thine own self with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was.

Topic: WE ARE GIVEN THE MASTER'S KEY
Memorize: Matthew 28:18, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, ALL POWER IS GIVEN UNTO ME IN HEAVEN AND IN EARTH. "

We know from the above verse that Jesus has all power and authority in Heaven and earth, and it was written He defeated death in Revelation1:17-18, "was dead, but look - I am alive for ever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and hades. " I think that is a great hope and comfort to us. We can actually use these Jesus keys to open for ourselves doors to life, and doors to opportunities for the best life, home and health WE could.
For everydoor , there is a key! I remember one day I came home a bit late to meet two families at the gate, waiting. They have tried several keys but fail to unlock the main door. I was the only one that was with the keys, because they did left theirs inside the house while going for the Church service. I appologize and got the main door opened!
There is a key to enter the presence of God, praise and worship in truth and the right spirit. There are keys to more blessings which include tithe giving, being grateful and righteous. There are keys to life and love, they include knowledge of God's word, being lovable and to love sincerely, living right and being for the truth. But there is a master key that opens all doors! Yes, am sure you have heard of "Prayer is the master key", Christ is the master but the actual key is not prayer but "His name" by which WE pray. Jesus love us so much He gave us His glory and the Master key...what did Jesus do when He conquered the enemy? He gave you the #key; of Victory and a key to release the heaven's supernatural blessings and life! And, we pray the Father in the name of Him we follow, and is our Lord, #Jesus_Christ!
A Name that’s above every Name, and at that Name, every knee shall bow (Philippians 2:10–11).
THE HANDLE IS #FAITH, AS YOU PRAY IN THE NAME. The principle is agreement and the authority of the Scriptures and your righteousness to use the name. Yet, anyone that calls on the name shall be saved. #Hallelujah!
He, as the head of the living Church, the love and connecting cornerstone of God's house. Jesus Christ the way, the truth and life of the precious and redeemed Children of God. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and for ever, (Hebrews 13:8) . However, He has delegated the authority to you and me, the Church. Indeed, we have the Word, the Spirit and the Glory to share with him (even seated with Him in heavenly places)
He gave the “key” of Spiritual life and victory over death, the key that can open unto the throne of Joy, Grace and Mercy of God to us, His Church.

Yes, #The_KEY_is_the_Name! A Name that’s above every Name, and at that Name, every knee shall bow (Philippians 2:10–11). Mind what and whom you hear, not all would help your faith, hope and health!

Isaiah 9:6
For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given;
and the government shall be upon His shoulder,
and His Name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

"For to us a child is born" is part of the verse above but have you ever thought about why God gives humans children to raise for such a long time? Why are we so emotionally attached to our offspring? Why do we worry about them after they are grown and on their own?

Maybe God wanted us to know just a fraction of what He felt when He let His Son walk into His Life as a human. Maybe God wanted us to love someone unconditionally so that we would accept that He could, would and does forgive us unconditionally.

Jesus came to live among us completely human to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Have you ever put yourself in His shoes? Have you ever thought about what it was like for Him?

Remember your childhood or think about the things your children have dealt with in school? Remember how hard it was to be different. Remember how you wanted to just fit in. Now think about Jesus. His parents had Him before they should have and He should never have been born (by law Mary should have been stoned), but He was. He never sinned so He was probably made fun of by the other boys. He knew scripture better than the scholars. Can you image what it was like for Jesus as a boy now?
Just growing up for Him was difficult. Yet He stayed and followed earthly rules and lived by our limitations. All of this happened long before He started His ministry. These are the years that we know nothing about but it is not hard to image what His life was like.
Most of us have seen the movies depicting the life, ministry and death of Jesus, so we know what He suffered in vivid detail even if we can't image it on our own from reading the Bible. During the next two weeks remember to thank God for His Son and acknowledge what Jesus gave up to save us. Also thank God for the children that He has given you to love. Thank Him for the ability to love unconditionally and for the gift of love He has given you.

The Feast of Dedication

12 December 2017 / 25 Kislev 5778 / Festival of Lights

Tonight is the first day of the Feast of Dedication, also known as Hanukkah, and was once called the "Feast of the Maccabees." This Jewish festival is observed for eight nights and days, starting on the 25th day of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar, which can occur from late November to late December in the Gregorian calendar.

This holy day, also known as the Festival of Lights / Feast of Dedication, was instituted in the year 165 BC by Judas Maccabeus, his brothers, and the elders of the congregation of Israel in commemoration of the rededication of the Holy Temple (the Second Temple) in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire under Antiochus Epiphanes (168 BC).


The book of Maccabees is from the Apocrypha, which was once included in the King James Version, but was not consider to be “inspired” writings. However, some of the books included in the apocryphal writings have great historical value, and have been deemed to be “useful and good to read.”

Here’s an excerpt from 1 Maccabees 4:36-61 (Note, the spelling is a bit different.)
[36] Then said Judas and his brethren, Behold, our enemies are discomfited: let us go up to cleanse and dedicate the sanctuary.

[37] Upon this all the host assembled themselves together, and went up into mount Sion.

[38] And when they saw the sanctuary desolate, and the altar profaned, and the gates burned up, and shrubs growing in the courts as in a forest, or in one of the mountains, yea, and the priests' chambers pulled down;

[39] They rent their clothes, and made great lamentation, and cast ashes upon their heads,

[40] And fell down flat to the ground upon their faces, and blew an alarm with the trumpets, and cried toward heaven.

[41] Then Judas appointed certain men to fight against those that were in the fortress, until he had cleansed the sanctuary.

[42] So he chose priests of blameless conversation, such as had pleasure in the law:

[43] Who cleansed the sanctuary, and bare out the defiled stones into an unclean place.

[44] And when as they consulted what to do with the altar of burnt offerings, which was profaned;

[45] They thought it best to pull it down, lest it should be a reproach to them, because the heathen had defiled it: wherefore they pulled it down,

[46] And laid up the stones in the mountain of the temple in a convenient place, until there should come a prophet to shew what should be done with them.

[47] Then they took whole stones according to the law, and built a new altar according to the former;

[48] And made up the sanctuary, and the things that were within the temple, and hallowed the courts.

[49] They made also new holy vessels, and into the temple they brought the candlestick, and the altar of burnt offerings, and of incense, and the table.

[50] And upon the altar they burned incense, and the lamps that were upon the candlestick they lighted, that they might give light in the temple.

[51] Furthermore they set the loaves upon the table, and spread out the veils, and finished all the works which they had begun to make.

[52] Now on the five and twentieth day of the ninth month, which is called the month Casleu, in the hundred forty and eighth year, they rose up betimes in the morning,

[53] And offered sacrifice according to the law upon the new altar of burnt offerings, which they had made.

[54] Look, at what time and what day the heathen had profaned it, even in that was it dedicated with songs, and citherns, and harps, and cymbals.

[55] Then all the people fell upon their faces, worshipping and praising the God of heaven, who had given them good success.

[56] And so they kept the dedication of the altar eight days and offered burnt offerings with gladness, and sacrificed the sacrifice of deliverance and praise.

[57] They decked also the forefront of the temple with crowns of gold, and with shields; and the gates and the chambers they renewed, and hanged doors upon them.

[58] Thus was there very great gladness among the people, for that the reproach of the heathen was put away.

[59] Moreover Judas and his brethren with the whole congregation of Israel ordained, that the days of the dedication of the altar should be kept in their season from year to year by the space of eight days, from the five and twentieth day of the month Casleu, with mirth and gladness.

[60] At that time also they builded up the mount Sion with high walls and strong towers round about, lest the Gentiles should come and tread it down as they had done before.

[61] And they set there a garrison to keep it, and fortified Bethsura to preserve it; that the people might have a defence against Idumea.

The Feast of Dedication is also mentioned in the book of John, and according to the Scriptures, Jesus commemorated this special season. Today it is typically consider a Jewish holiday, but given that Jesus was the Jewish Messiah of Israel, it is understandable that His followers would also remember this holy season.
John 10:22 “And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

John 10:23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

John 10:24 Then came the Jews round about Him, and said unto Him, How long dost Thou make us to doubt? If Thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

John 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me.

John 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of My sheep, as I said unto you.

John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me:

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John 10:29 My Father, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand.

John 10:30 I and My Father are one.”

I believe it is so important for Christians to know about and understand the history of God’s chosen people. I hope to share more of what I have learned about this holy season in the future!

Dane Miller Wednesday Devotional: LORD SHOW ME MY WORKS

I would like to share a personal experience as an introduction to his particular topic. Recently God allowed me to write a book on his behalf called, What is the Woman Saying - Lessons Learnt from Biblical Women. I truly enjoyed as aspects of writing and bringing this book to fruition. While writing I had my guitar behind me and I would have been constantly looking at it and wishing the writing process was completed so I can finally start to learn to play. The writing came to and end so it was off to my next goal of learning to play this musical instrument.

So here I was now, strumming away daily, reading guitar books and looking at youtube videos as my self teaching process was kicking into high gear. Part of my aim was to bless our Lord with a musical instrument and offer it up as worship and something pleasing in his sight. This is when he spoke to me and said, "Dane, you cannot chose for yourself the things you want to offer up to me as worship/works".

What God was reminding me of is that I am His to be used as He sees fit. While wanting to play an instrument for his glory is a great thing but that does not mean he want's me specifically to do that. The mastery of this stringed instrument could have been assigned from the foundation of the world to someone else . While my job could have been to continue writing and focusing on producing more books. This is why it is of paramount importance and with acknowledge God in ALL our ways ( Proverbs 3:6)

It is with this backdrop that I would like to talk about the works we have been assigned to do as opposed to the works we would like to do. One of the reasons I feel believers are burnt out, tired, despondent and lacking a sense of direction is because they are taking on too much tasks which are not aligned with the works God has assigned by their name (Ephesians 2:10; Ephesians 1:4)

Yes my Friend we have works which are unique for us to execute! Jesus and all other men of God were given their specific assignment.

Jesus said in John 17:4 I have glorified Thee on the earth: I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me to do.
As with us all, the Apostle Paul wanted to leave and be with Christ but his works on earth were not yet finished because he still needed to help the faithful. - Philippians 1:23-24 (NIV) 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.
David rested when his works where compete: Acts 13:36 (NIV-WS) 36 “Now when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed.
As Jesus so nicely put it, our works are given to glorify our Heavenly Father on Earth. It is all part of being Holy (set aside for scared use). God's word reminders us in many locations to be holy as he is holy e.g. Leviticus 20:26 (NIV) 26 You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.

God wants us to continue moving from righteousness to righteousness and holiness to holiness. One of the things God is saying here is we are to continually keep setting aside ourselves for his use (God appointed works) over and over again. As I underscored above, this is not our self appointed works but the works God has handpicked us to do before the world began.

I encourage us all to pause for a moment today and come before God prayerfully and ask, "God please show me my works!". This might entail a one off prayer or a prolonged period of praying and fasting but the answer will come. It might also involve giving up some of the things that you love doing currently. But I guarantee, in doing so you will not only be more effective in bringing glory to God but you will find your christian journey more rewarding and less strenuous.

By brothers and sisters, I leave you with these two scriptures to further encourage you along this journey of laboring for the Lord.

Matthew 25:21 (KJV) His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV) Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Ephesians 2: 8-10

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are His workmanship,created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

Our Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did not gave His life to save us just for nothing! He has a purpose for saving us, and as our dear Brother Dane said, "the works God has handpicked us to do before the world began", it is to do the works!
In Romans 12: 6-8, the Lord gave us, by His grace, gifts we can use to work for Him, and Paul said, we need to use it to its extent.
Also in Ephesians 4:11, the Lord gave gifts to men to be used "for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, and edifying of the Body of Christ."
If you are a member of the body of Christ, you have a special task to do, and you should do it with passion, as Paul said to Timothy to "stir up the gift of God" 2 Timothy 1:6. It is always an honor to have a special gift (or work), we can offer to our Dear Lord Jesus Christ!

But as I think of those who are saying, "I don't have any gift I can use for the Lord", Colossians 3:23 always come to mind: "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men:" And now, it will always go back to our hearts. If we have a HEART for Jesus, there's no need for special talents; abilities; gifts; or extra ordinary powers so that we can "work" for Him.
So, in whatever things you are doing right now, just just offer it to the Lord by heart, and He will be glorified... and yes, please be reminded that you cannot offer something sinful to the Lord (I know you know that).
" Our talents maybe few, these maybe small; but unto Him is due our best...our all" as the song goes.
So, let us rejoice together in working for our Lord and Master! Let us glorify Him in everything we DO!
"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."
Amen!

Feast of Dedication ~ Festival of Lights

[It was late when I posted this devotional last night, and I have polished it up a bit. May God bless, C. Read]

Just as Pastor Arnie said, for those who are walking with God, by the power of His Holy Spirit, we are definitely a target of the Enemy--the great dragon who “was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:” (Revelation 12:9). And it is my sincere prayer that this message will be an encouragement to God’s people who truly love Him!
Luke 10:17 “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through Thy name.

Luke 10:18 And He said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luke 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”

For Christians, Jesus Christ is our strength, our hope, our comfort, our protection, our help, our wisdom and so much more! Most important of all, Jesus the Messiah of Israel, is the giver of eternal life for those whom God has chosen...

Satan has no power over those who are led by God's Spirit, and are fully trusting in Him. Not that the enemy of our soul won’t try to trip us up, or lead us astray, and away from where God wants us to be, which is why as Real Christians, we must remain diligent, watchful, and prayerful!

We must remain diligent to read and study God's Holy word so that we can grow in our love and knowledge of the LORD God Almighty. The more you know God, the more you love Him! The more you love God, the more you will want to please Him. And the more you please God, the more you bring pleasure to Him, and displeasure to the devil!

We must remain watchful in order to see where God wants to lead us by His Holy Spirit, so that we can be true and faithful in our service to Almighty God, and to others.

We must remain prayerful, so that we can have an attentive ear, ready to hear what God is saying to us through the Holy Bible, circumstances, believers in the church, and the “still small voice” of His Holy Spirit. (1 Kings 19:12-13)

Moreover, we must always keep in mind that Satan despises Almighty God, and the devil hates it when we love and worship our Creator and His beloved Son, the LORD Jesus Christ, in Spirit and in Truth!

Sadly, as I look at the condition of the churches in the world today, there are so many people who are not walking in the truth. However, for those who are deceived, but truly love God, He will show them the truth. Then they will have a major decision to make... For those who have chosen to believe the truth and reject the lies, they will be set free from the deceptions of the Devil, and will be able to freely worship God as He deserves and greatly desires of His people!
3 John 1:2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

3 John 1:3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."


By the Spirit of the living God, who resides within me, I truly believe that my name is written in heaven, not because of anything I have done, but because of Jesus Christ and everything He has done! I hope that you, too, have that blessed assurance! And if you don’t, I pray that you will call upon the name of the LORD God from a sincere and repentant heart, and may He grant you the great privilege of becoming one of His sons or daughters.

To my dear family in Christ, may God strength our hearts through our trials and tribulations in this life, and protect us from those who would love to lead us astray in an evil way, and who actually hate our LORD Jesus Christ! And this is my sincere prayer...
1 Corinthians 16:22-24 “If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.”

ARE YOU A TRUSTWORTHY AND PROFITABLE PERSON?
Matthew 25: 23, NIV, "His master told him, 'Well done, good and trustworthy servant! Since you've been trustworthy with a small amount, I'll put you in charge of a large amount. Come and share your master's joy"
Text: Matthew 25:22-26 Parable of the Talents and the Servants.
are you trust worthy? How productive are you, about your own business and others? This are the questions I would like you to answer, as you meditate over this post, and make the needful adjustment or change in your life. Success removes anger, depression and hateful spirit, it brings joy, renews hope of another, and helps love to thrive greatly.
In the passage, the parable, both of these servants had doubled their capital, and their lord commended and rewarded them both in the same terms.
The point is that each had done his best according to his ability. Their different talents, greater or less, had been profitably employed, and so far the two were equal. Fidelity in a smaller sphere of labour may be of greater importance than in a larger area; and seemingly insignificant duties well performed may be of incalculable spiritual advantage to one's self and to others. What is your own excuse my dear reader?
Differences in talents make no distinctions in rewards, if the utmost is made of them. That is, "If there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not" (2 Corinthians 8:12).
Truly, as a trustee,
Luke 16: 12. "And if you have not been faithful with the belongings of another, who will give
you belongings of your own? "

Dear reader, #Trust is a fundamental cornerstone of successful relationships; religious, friendship, marital, business, etc. It creates stability, transparency, and respect for a business entity or a person. It is a character trait that people value and look for in others or trustee.
It is synonymous with integrity, being honorable, sincere, reliable and fair. Are you trustworthy. If you do not trust yourself , you will have a head cluster trusting God and other people. Anxious and doubting people make mistakes often, sometimes a harm they honestly would not intend in sober state of mind.

God is trustworthy, we can take Him by His words. He is willing, able and always hopeful with a positive disposition and goodness to everyone given that they can Change and were His creations. Psalm 33:4-6, Jeremiah 29:11
Being a trustworthy person doesn’t just happen. It takes commitment, dedication, and a choice to living an honest life. To trust yourself and to be trusted by others, you have to be accountable in all areas of your life. If you are human, you know as well as I do, that this can sometimes be a challenge. Yet, you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. Be willing, and allow the goodness and grace nature of God in you to lead you, your thoughts and actions.
Prayers:
Almighty Father, thank you for the abilities, the grace and the loved ones in my life. I am sorry for failing on my own part, and I am sorry for my attitudes and ungrateful or careless behaviors. Help me, oh Lord, to make an utmost and profitable use of my time and grace. To build lifestyle, business, careers and relationships that would give glory to you, LORD, and an envy of others. These and more I asked in Jesus previous name. Amen.

Your attitude will cause a ripple effect with others. Make sure that the ripple effect is positive.
It all start with #Trusting yourself, and then others which can take time. I encourage you to start putting into practice this week, every efforts and opportunity you can to be trustworthy, even as the strength and grace of the Holy Spirit helps you . Amen.

This is a season of anticipation. Children are getting excited and it is difficult for teachers to get them to concentrate on school work because they are thinking about parties, vacation, playing in the snow and Santa bringing presents.
Adults are anticipating a break from working, spending time relaxing, visiting friends and relatives and good food to eat.
These are not bad things to be thinking about as long as they are put in context of what the season is really about.
Children can enjoy stories about Santa, Frosty and Rudolph. Imagination makes the world a little brighter when you are a child. As long as you are teaching your children about God and Jesus and living what you teach, fairy tales will not be a problem. God put eternity in the heart of every child and although it is fun to believe in Santa, when children are taught Christ, they know the difference without your spoiling the fun of Santa. I'm not telling you how to raise your children or that your beliefs are wrong. I am just saying that the person that lets their child believe in Santa isn't always wrong either. Santa is someone that knows what you are doing, when you are sleeping, awake, good, bad. He comes down the chimney-through the darkness to deliver good things. He brings joy but sometimes he brings disappointment when things wished for are not brought. These things are not bad lessons to be taught. Jesus came through darkness to bring good things, Salvation and Eternity in Heaven with Him, but those are hard for a child to understand, Santa with presents is easier. The children receive the gifts and see Santa at the mall so the concept is easier to believe. It doesn't have to be one or the other. A child that believes that Santa knows if they are naughty or nice may find it easier to believe in a God that knows everything and brings gifts that will last forever but cannot be physically seen. I grew up in a family that went to church but I also grew up in a family that read "The Night Before Christmas" and watched movies about Santa. I also read fairy tales and enjoyed sci-fi movies but I was never confused about it. We went to church and worshiped God all year long. The only time we talked about Santa was at Christmas and only the kids really did that. The grownups would say something like Santa only brings presents to children. Older children would always say that Santa wasn't real--sound familiar. A child facing the reality of Santa has to sort out what is real and what is make believe. A person challenged on their belief in God has to do the same. When old enough to understand a child will realize that the stories of Santa don't stand up to examination, but what they know about Jesus will stand up to the most thorough scrutinization. Think of Santa as the litmus test that confirms that not all beliefs are equal. Use Santa as a way to show children that just because somebody believes in something that doesn't make it true or real. Use Santa to teach your children how to take apart what they are told and exam it for the truth contained within.
As I said before, I am not telling you to bring Santa into your home if you believe it is wrong, just be careful about judging others for allowing him into theirs. Santa can be a tool to teach children about Jesus.
Let your children anticipate the coming of Santa but also let them see your anticipation and joy in celebrating the birth of Jesus and His future return. Teach your children that they (and Santa) are giving and receiving gifts in remembrance of the wise men bringing gifts to Jesus. Teach them to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior while enjoying the wonder and joy as only a child can. The world is full of cartoons, robots, monsters that children love to watch but that doesn't mean that they truly believe they are real. If you build your home on the firm foundation of Christ then Santa coming down the chimney will not shake that foundation. Enjoy this week and anticipate with joy the celebration of Jesus' birthday and look forward to the day when He returns.
I hope that my ramblings have not confused or discouraged anyone. I have seen too many families that get caught up in either Jesus or Santa and have seen too many children suffer because they can't enjoy the activities that other children participate in. I only wanted to set your minds at ease and show you that the decisions are not always one or the other but that both can work.
I firmly believe that unless you isolate your children from the world, that including Santa in a limited way will be better for them than trying to exclude Santa all together. We want our children to celebrate with others and learn to disciple to them. To accomplish this, the children need to relate to their school mates. Isolating your children too much will not accomplish God's work. So choose how much of the world you will allow into your home but remember that we do live in the world and that our children need to learn to navigate in it. Teaching children the difference between Santa and Jesus is a good starting point.

May this week be one of anticipation and joy. May you celebrate the birth of Jesus with family and friends.

Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable; if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, -think about such things."

Something we really need to think about and refrain from doing - if you can’t say something good about someone, don’t say anything at all. It would help all our relationships and our own conscience if we only spoke well of each other.
As Christians we should be especially aware of what we say to and about others.

Paul was writing to the Christians in Ephesus when he wrote: Ephesians 4:29-32
29 " Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
30 "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31 "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
32 "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
The next time someone comes into your office or greets you at the door or meets you in the parking lot or restaurant and they begin with gossip and negative talk let them know politely isn't for you, you wouldn't like to be involved.
And if you think there aren't anything wrong with it, or was just being mischievous and perhaps there are some truth in it... negative talk is negative talk and can damage irreparably others reputations, chances, emotions, perhaps faith in God and people
Please, ask yourself –what would Jesus do? I cannot imagine Jesus tearing someone down with words – speaking ill of someone – can you? NO PLEASE!
We are beckons of hope, examples of the Holy Spirit filled. Friends in Christ Jesus, our manifested Hallmark and Christian traits and values should be life and light to others.
Just something to think about today and this season of love as you go on your way. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Dane Miller Wednesday Devotional: Acknowledge God in ALL Your Ways.

We live in a world where things are becoming increasingly uncertain! There is political uncertainty, financial uncertainty, environmental uncertainty, etc. Look at every region or continent, there is some level of turmoil which begs the question. What is really going on here? This uncertainty is not only limited to world events. But in our personal lives especially in seasons of difficulty or when making major life changing decisions there is ambiguity and  nervousness.

But regardless of what season we are in or how major/minor our decisions, God wants us to acknowledge him in all our ways (Proverbs 3:6). Because our God knew the ending from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10).  He knew that we would have need of a spiritual compass and various navigational tools to guide us through this landscape of uncertainty and chaos on Earth.

In God’s wisdom he left us the Holy Spirit which guides and leads us (John 16:13, Romans 8:14, Galatians 5:25), places the right confidants in our vicinity to offer good counsel (Proverbs 11:14, Proverbs 24:6) and we also have prayer to request guidance from our Lord (Proverbs 3:6). Out of these three, I would like to focus on the latter regarding praying and acknowledging the Father for Godly direction.

A King Seeking Direction from Evil Spirit

Ezekiel 21:21 “For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.” 

This was an evil king who was going to battle and came to an intersection in the road. At this intersection the king decided not to just pick a path and follow it but used 3 ancient techniques to obtain guidance from the spiritual underworld.  The first time I read this scripture it left me very humbled. Because being a king he would have been schooled in the art of war and strategy, he would have had wise advises around him, plus even before leaving his castle he would have made assessments/evaluations as noted by Jesus (Luke 14:31). Yet still along his journey at a simple intercession, this king stops to seek direction from the devil.

I started to ask myself, “Lord, if a man of such standing is stopping and seeking the spiritual realm for direction in such a simple thing as to which road to take. Then how much more should I be acknowledging you in all my ways?” Jesus himself did nothing of his own but acknowledged the Father for everything.

John 5:19 “Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.”

A friend once told me that, “anytime a man is continually failing he is counseling himself”. I really like this statement because it speaks volumes. The reasons why Jesus was successful and so many other great men of the bible is because they sought the Lord and applied His guidance to all aspects of their lives. This is how we get the victory!

I remind everyone today that God wants us to be successful in this life irregardless of it’s turbulence, ambiguity and challenges. But to succeed we must learn to seek Him and “PUT GOD FIRST!”.

I leave you with some scriptures and reflective questions to ponder upon.

** Proverbs 3:5-7 5 “trust in the lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the lord, and depart from evil”.
** Psalms 106:13 “They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:”
** Psalms 73:24 – “Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory”

Reflective Questions:

1. Think about some of the decisions (major and minor) you have made recently. Was God apart of these decisions?
2. But do seek God’s guidance in EVERY aspect of our life?
3. Evaluate the earthly counsel you are getting. Are they giving you truth Godly words or is their advice based on opinions and feelings?

Your Labors are NOT in vain in the LORD

1Corthinthians 15:58
"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

I can not stay very long as we (some young men and myself) are quiet busy preparing for a place where our young people in our church can stay for a youth Bible camp that will start Monday, and end Friday.
The work is very physical that made us very tired every night upon going to bed, added by several good expenses for the materials for the quarters we are building.
But to think that we can be a blessing to the youth of our church, and for the opportunity to share the Word of God for several days, and to give God our strength and wisdom, all for His glory, our labours are not in vain indeed!
I hope it will still encourage you who are also giving your all for the glory of God. Just keep on keeping on, because your labors are not in vain in the Lord!
I would also request for your prayers for the remaining needs and finishing touches of this project. May the Lord be gracious.

Thank you for your words of encouragement. I know that it can be very hard to stand up for God and His truth, especially with all the opposition, even among those who claim to be Christians.

We do have an enemy that would like to stop or even hinder the work of the LORD, but we must persevere! And the LORD will see us through if we continue to trust in Him! Praise God!

Thank you for your prayers, especially for the ministry God has given me of sharing His "True Light" with a dark and dying world that desperately needs the LORD. Only truth will set men free from the power of Darkness and the evil influence of the devil! May we as Real Christians prepare our hearts so that the beautiful "Light" of Christ may shine through us!

Luke 1-21
In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Or This census took place before Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

Dane Miller Wednesday Devotional: "Yet Still Ye Say"

I was reading God’s word this morning and the following words (“ Yet Ye Say ”) from the King James Version (KJV) stood out to me. This can also be translated as, “yet you say”. In the scriptures where these words can be found the people of God were having a kind of discourse with the Holy Father. The situation was God was giving them His Living Words, but His people was rejecting it by their words and works. God’s people were stiffed necked and rebellious, so God was concluding the conversation by saying, Yet Still You Say. Meaning, after all that I your Heavenly Father have done and blessed you with, you are still acting contrary to my will.

Biblical Reference:

Ezekiel 18:25 (KJV) 25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?

Ezekiel 33:20 (KJV) 20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you everyone after his ways.

Malachi 1:2 (KJV) 2 “I have loved you, saith the Lord. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us?...”

Malachi 3:8 (KJV) 8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

Malachi 2:13-14 (ESV) 13 And this second thing you do. You cover the Lord's altar with tears, with weeping and groaning because he no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favor from your hand. 14 But you say, “Why does he not?” Because the Lord was witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.

If we group these scriptures in themes we see how serious the level of opposition to our Father was.

God was saying my words are to be valued and honoured, yet still you are saying my words are unimportant. God was saying I am loving you, yet you are saying Lord where are you loving us! God was saying you are holding back and robbing me yet still we are staying, where are we robbing you. God was saying your worship is tainted and unacceptable to me, yet still you are saying, Lord accept my offering because it is good. This sounds like the church today when God is saying one thing, but our hearts desires are to do another.

The categories above are just subset this same attitude and behaviour is often displayed in other areas as well, for example:

LOVE:

Matthew 5:43-48 (NIV) 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

 John 13:34-35 (KJV) 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

 Yet Ye Say – Lord, my enemies have done me so much wrong, I will not LOVE them! Lord, I cannot love that neighbor who snobs and treats me so badly. Forgetting God loved us when we were in sin and enemies to His kingdom.

FORGIVENESS:

Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV) 14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV). 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Yet Ye Say – Lord, I cannot and will not forgive that person because they have hurt me to deeply. In our selfish desire to remain bitter we often forget how much times we hurt God ourselves and he still graciously forgave us.

GIVING:

 1 John 3:17-19 (NIV) 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Luke 6:30-32 (NIV) Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. 31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.

  Yet Ye Say – Lord, why can’t this person get a job. Why must I give my hard-earned money to this fit and abled looking individual. Forgetting God gave us the power to earn wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18) and ALL that we have belongs to Him and it’s simply loaned to us for a time.

This verbal debate/discourse between ourselves and God’s words happens to all of us. God says to go North, but we say to go South. God says to go East, but we say to go West. The thing is, although our God is sovereign and Master of the Universe, He does not impose Himself on us. Oftentimes He welcomes us to have this courtroom type jousting or gabfest with Him. Remember when Hezekiah pleaded with God to add years to his life after God said he will die (2 Kings 20:1-11), Abraham pleads against the destruction of Sodom (Genesis 18:16-32), and Moses changes God’s judgement of the Israelite's after they made the Golden Calf (Exodus 32:9-14). In all those times men made God changed His mind or adjusted His previous decision.

You see, God gives us judgements, decrees, statues, laws, commands, etc. But when it comes to His judgements He gives us a level of leeway to plead our case before Him. But with His laws and commands He is unmoving. He knows that if he allows us to deviate from it and get our own way we tie ourselves from obtaining His blessing. If he gives in to our stubborn ways He will not be taking up His role as a Father who seeks the best for His children.

So, let’s come before God and plead our case for He will listen and show mercy over judgement. But if our case is to take shortcuts or deviate regarding His word we will soon find that He is unyielding. We must reach a stage where God can no longer accuse us of rebelling and rebutting with a “Yet I Say” attitude.

I close with this. People should say, “I see this in the bible and I see it in his/her life”, "I see that in the bible and I see it in his/her life”. That’s why Jesus was regarded as the living word. He walked, talked and apply every word of God in his life. If we are to live and be like our Lord and Savior we must do the same, and “ WILL ourselves to God’s word!”

I believe this one statement of yours is the heart of the problem with so many in the churches and Christian ministries:

It reminds me of what Jesus said to the religious leaders of His day, which can aptly apply to the men who are leading God's people today. Even though the circumstances are different the "spiritual" principles are the same.

Matthew 15:1 "Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,

Matthew 15:2 Why do Thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

Matthew 15:3 But He answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Matthew 15:4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

Matthew 15:5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;

Matthew 15:6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

Matthew 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."

Not until God's people humbly bow before Him with a sincere and repentant heart that says LORD, I greatly desire to worship You in Spirit and in Truth, and are willing to forsake everything, no matter who or what it is, to follow the LORD Jesus Christ--the true Jesus Christ--will the LORD God Almighty be pleased with their worship of Him.

Devotional for Friday ~ 29-31 December 2017 / 12-13 Tevet 5778

I believe that the reason why the “Light” of Christ is absent in so many of the churches of our day is due to ineffectual apathetic prayers, or lack thereof, of sinful men who claim to be right with God. I wonder how many Christians earnestly and faithfully pray to the God of Heaven for themselves and their loved ones, especially for their children for those who have them? Moreover, I wonder how many even bother to read and study the Holy Scriptures so they can truly know God, and worship Him in Spirit and in Truth as He so deserves and desires of His people?

I am greatly concerned about God’s people and the state of the churches, and the following letter I wrote to an Editor of a local newspaper over twenty-three years ago will illuminate some of my concerns. I truly hope these words will sound a major warning and cause those who hear them, and those who have a genuine love for God, to examine themselves, in the Light of God's word, and seriously think about their relationship with Almighty God and His beloved Son, the LORD Jesus Christ.
“To The Editor…,

I just couldn’t stop thinking about the man who had lost his three children because he had fallen asleep. I can almost imagine the horror he must have experienced when he found their lifeless little bodies in that old refrigerator. It must have been his darkest hour!

My heart goes out to him and his family, and I just pray that they will turn all this over to the Lord, if they haven’t already. The unbearable shame, guilt, anger, and resentment will just destroy their lives completely if it’s allowed to continue.

It may be extremely hard to understand how God could even possibly use this tragic situation and turn it around [“for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” Romans 8:28], but He can and He will if we would only look at it from His perspective. [God does not turn bad into good, but He uses all things, even mistakes and heartaches, to bring about good for those who love Him.]

As I read the front-page article...describing what happened, the Lord brought to my attention that the condition of most fathers in this country is that they are spiritually asleep, thus they are unable to see the imminent danger their children are in.

If they don’t wake up while there’s still time they will ultimately be responsible for the eternal death of their families; and if they find themselves and their children in outer Darkness separated from God forever, there will be no turning back then.

My hope and prayer is that the pain and sorrow of this family can be eased if they know their situation has sounded an alarm to all of us for the need to humbly submit our whole heart, soul, and body to Almighty God and His Word before it’s too late.

It’s so important for the men and fathers of this country to stand up and be the spiritual leaders that God has ordained that they must be! Should they refuse, they will be held accountable for that decision! And in so doing they will ultimately help contribute to the demise of the United States of America as a Nation that stands for Truth, Justice, and Freedom for All.

It is interesting to note that even though Eve is the one who initially ate from “the tree of knowledge of good and evil,” the tree God had forbidden Adam to eat from, God ultimately held the man accountable for their disobedience, because it was his responsibility to make sure God's commands were obeyed . Thus, sin and death came through the man, and not the woman.
Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

Romans 5:17 “For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)”

1 Corinthians 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”

God says in His word that only those who are truly born again of His Spirit, will enter into the Kingdom of heaven. “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3) Please prayerfully consider these words of the LORD Jesus Christ.
John 3:5 “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.”

You cannot love the world and its ways, and love God with all your heart, at the same time. You cannot mix the holy with the profane and be acceptable with Almighty God. Light and darkness do NOT go together! Please consider this foundational passage from one of Jesus’ closest disciples.
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:3 All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1:4 In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.

John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

John 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

John 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.

John 1:11 He came unto His own, and His own received Him not.

John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:

John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

God's truth is really all that matters. If you are believing lies, and you love your sin and unrighteousness more than you love God, that is a very dangerous place to be. If you chose to go the way of sin, God will let you go, but that is not His desire for you.

In fact, God would love for all men to be saved, that’s why He sent His dearly beloved Son to be the Saviour of the world. But the very sad reality is that not all men will be saved from eternal death. Moreover, contrary to popular belief, there will be more souls that go to Hell, than those who go to Heaven!
Matthew 7:13 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Matthew 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Matthew 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Matthew 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.”

Evil men and seducers are proliferating in these final days, just as God has warned us about in the Holy Scriptures. But if you are one who believes that “all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation” (2 Peter 3:4), then I say to you, IT IS TIME TO WAKE UP! Your life and the lives of those you are able to influence "for good or evil" are at stake! And realize, that only through Christ working in us can we truly be the godly, holy people that God requires. “Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.” (Haggai 1:7) [I encourage you to read the whole book of Haggai. It only has two chapters, and it is extremely relevant for God's people today.]

Another Scripture passage that I hope you will prayerfully consider:
Matthew 13:24 "Another parable put He forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

Matthew 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

Matthew 13:26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

Matthew 13:27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

Matthew 13:28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

Matthew 13:29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into My barn."

God is going to gather Satan and his evil workers together and cast them into the lake of fire one day, along with all those who follow him unto death. As I have told my children all their lives, "There will not be another rebellion in heaven! Only those who delight completely in the word of God, and are born again by God's Spirit, will have access to the tree of life and the Holy City."

Satan has been very busy these days because he knows his time is short! He has led men to be lenient toward sin, but the longer a man walks in sin, the darker it gets. And only Christ can set us free from the bondage of sin and Satan! And remember, God WILL forgive any sin, no matter how wicked, except blaspheme against His Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"

Matthew 12:31 "Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Matthew 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."


May all Real Christians be ready for that glorious day! God be with you and your loved ones in the New Year of 2018, and beyond! And God's love, grace, and mercy be with you as you walk with Him in the True Light!

Saturday's Devotional.
Topic: Growing in Discernment - by Joyce Meyer
Scripture Reference: "And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him–the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord"— Isaiah 11:2

Jesus lived His life by discernment. His discernment was not based on the superficial senses of His flesh—it was the result of His intimate communion and relationship with His Father God.
This same gift of discernment is available to you and me through our relationship with God.
So how does it work? Before you do anything, you must quickly check with your spirit to see if the thing you are about to do is okay. If you have peace, then proceed. But if you are uncomfortable, confused or frustrated, remain still.
For instance, at times I’ve been at the mall getting ready to purchase something, but before I reached the checkout counter, I sensed a frustration in my spirit, which was like a nudge from the Holy Spirit not to make the purchase.

The exciting thing about moments like these is every time you and I choose to listen to and follow the Holy Spirit’s promptings, our spirits grow stronger in God, and more and more of God’s power is released in our lives to operate in the fruit of the Spirit.
Yield to the Holy Spirit and follow His promptings and you will grow in the same discernment that Jesus walked in.

Oh Lord, I pray in Jesus matchless name, in every of my deciding and choice moment, give me the spirit of discernment to complement my instincts that I may always do and choose that which is the best for the moment. Help me with strength and the joy only your Holy Spirit can give. Glorify yourself in my life, the Prince of peace, the wisdom of God, Christ Jesus also called the faithful. Amen.
