Good Luck :)

With just 16 more days to this year, a few books completed past my challenge target, looking back and reminiscing on my reading, I should say it was one more great year though I kept whining and ranting on having no quality reading time. I did sway a little towards gaming, as work needed more attention than it usually asks for, and reading in the teeny weeny bit of available time made me read and re-read the same page several times, and it was frustrating to start the same book and end at the same place making no progress. The initial half year was very conducive in helping reach my target thanks to the challenges, weekly group reads, buddy reads and so on. They were very helpful in keeping me focused. The latter half of the year kept me busy, with family, work and friends needing more of my time and filling me with guilt about not reading as I did.
But truth be told my reading has actually bettered over this year, though not much happened as planned. That makes me rush towards an unplanned 2018. But my OCD or whatever, will never let me do that. So plans and scheduling can not be ruled out of my weird self, and yes there will be plans though I may try not to feel guilty when I don't stick to them strictly.
Completing a book irrespective of it losing my interest is one of my concerns too. It makes me feel defeated to abandon a book, deflates the pride of being a reader and makes me spend several hours criticizing myself for being incapable of completing a book and of course more loathing when it is a more popular book.
But then not everyone read the same book, and so I think I should try accepting my imperfect self.
The overall plan for the year will be
☘️Taking part in the POFM (Indian Readers) and read 12 books at least of my TBR.
☘️Taking part in the BOTM (Indian Readers) as long as it is completely not-my-kind of book, and be more active in the thread, and follow discussions even if not actively discussing. This was very helpful in shaping my reading during my initial years in GoodReads, got me introduced to some really awesome books and authors that I would have never tried all my life. And helped see finer details that I probably didn't get to see. Trying to challenge myself with a minimum of 8 books here, discounting the ones that might have already been read by me and lack of time, if it so happens.
☘️Taking part in the Weekly and monthly reads of the Biblios whenever possible. Challenging a minimum of 30 books here.
☘️Also Planning to read new authors for the review requests. Planning at least 15 books.
My personal goals 🏆⚽⛳🏆🏅⚽🏅🏆⛳⚽ 🎣 🎮 which will be more sort of l e i s u r e read, and with no time frame attached will be
🌾Non fiction - Science based - 15 books.
🌾Tamil - 10 books, could be review requests, new authors but only original work and strictly no translations. Some of the hard copies I bought this year were translations, so I will try to complete them. Also planning to read classics/popular authors. Looking forward to the Book Fair to add some more to my shelf, leave alone a library, I hardly have my own book shelf :(
🌾Indian books - won't go for many this year. Will keep it at 5 more than Tamil books, that will make it 15.
So keeping my target at 100 wonly, and looking forward to another 40 over this if the year weaves some magic around me.
For magic 🌈 happens to those who believe in magic 🌈,
and maybe
the whole universe ☀ 🌜🌟 may conspire to make this magic ✨ happen,
and still I may end up ranting 😏😣😓,
so many books📚 🕮️ so little time ⏳
like I always do 😎
... So I may just beat on, boats ⛵⛵ against the current 🌊, borne back ceaselessly into time ⌚ lost in my past.

Started the year's reading with Jane Austen's Lesley Castle
It was a collection of communications between Miss Lesley, Miss Lutterell - Charlotte, Eloisa, Lady Lesley, Mrs Marlowe. Overall it was like listening to gossips laced with subtle humor and myriad emotions of love, possessiveness, jealousy and mild envy. Three stars, Not a bad start. :)

Don't know if I am choosing the best books or if I am easily impressed... the books this year are awesome. Was stuck at some 5% of A Constellation of Vital Phenomena and almost DNF-ed it. Reading Zoe Kalo was refreshing, loosened me up, and now Anthony Marra looks too appetizing ... (lol I sound like a monster)
