Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments The winning theme for August is Sky High (The word sun/planet/moon/star in the title in any language)

- To allow enough time for as many people as possible to read, try and limit the page count to approximately 400 pages maximum.
- To ensure the book is available for as many readers as possible, please consider whether your nomination is 1) still in print or 2) available as a reasonably-priced e-book (under $12) or 3) published no less than 3 months ago. These are not requirements of course, but suggestions :)

One nomination per person please - random.org will then choose a selection for voting.

Nominations close July 18.

Camilla | 2126 comments Oooh, I had 30 books on my TBR list just with the word "moon" in the title (and a couple with "honeymoon", LOL!). I'm nominating The Moons of Jupiter by Alice Munro, since it has both moons and a planet in the title.

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9225 comments Are we counting clouds? If so, I nominate Ketchup Clouds by Annabel Pitcher.

Theresa~OctoberLace (octoberlace) | 1090 comments For clarification, are we limited to the 4 words "Sun" "Planet" "Moon" and "Star", or can we also use assigned names for particular ones, such as "Big Dipper" "Orion" and "Saturn"?

Sarah | 18519 comments Nice Kirila. I was going to nominate that one too.

No, they are just examples - anything IN the sky is also an option!

Sarah | 18519 comments And that's the other one I was thinking of Peggy!

message 18: by Laura, Moderator (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 4087 comments Cloud Atlas would be a great book to discuss, and I think it also could work for the chunky challenge.

There are lots of great books in here! Or at least, books I'd like to think are great, which are already on my TBR lol.

message 27: by Cherie (last edited Jul 15, 2014 04:18PM) (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21509 comments What - no Star Trek or Star Wars readers here? Don't worry, I am not going to nominate one, but I could.

My shelves are full of "Space" stories and I even found a book of Sherlock Holmes short stories written by Science Fiction authors and edited by Isaac Asimov Sherlock Holmes Through Time and Space. I am not nominating it, but I might read it if I can find a copy.

John Steinbeck wrote The Moon Is Down - a little short @ 144 pages and William Faulkner wrote Light in August - a little long @ 507 pages. I love the titles!

I found a Western by Zane Grey called The Lone Star Ranger.

Don't mind me - I am bored at work and having fun looking at what I have on my TBR list. I have read many of the books nominated and have most of the others on my TBR list.....Going away now. :0)

There are some great lines! It really was well done.
