Which book and which animal?

The Cozy Mystery reader group on Meet Up is reading The Chocolate Cat Caper. They will be discussing it February 6th at the Starbucks in Manchester.

Finished The Chocolate Cat Caper. While the descriptions of the chocolates were yummy the story not so much. I have to start with the disclaimer that first person is not my favorite narrative. I found the characters shallow and the mystery rather like a Saturday morning cartoon. I expected someone to say "Jinkies, it was Mr. X all along" to which the bad guy would say "And I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for your meddling." Another book with to many exclamation points. Really, everything your character says is not that important.

I seem to be struggling with this category. Maybe its because so many of my favorite authors have books coming out and I'm trying to get through those....any suggestions?

So many good ones in this catagory I don't know where to start. PS Your Cat is Dead is my favorite go to book on a bad day. A Street Cat named Bob is really good. The Art of Racing in the Rain, A Dogs Purpose, and Dewey are all great books. Uggy is another fav.

For those that have read Art of Racing in the Rain - how was the movie compared to the book? In all of the books I brought home during this unusual time this was not a category I thought of.
