1000 Books Before You Die discussion

It's time for nominations again! What crime book do you want to read in January of 2018? Gosh this year has flown by! I'll leave this open till the 20th!

I would like to nominate Red Harvest by Dashiell Hammett.

I would be happy to re-read Red Harvest any time, but I will nominate The Friends of Eddie Coyle

Both of those sound good, though I'd have to find Coyle at the library or something.

I'm not going to nominate, but I'll read what gets picked if I have it on my shelves already

I didn't know much about Higgins, and then I happened to catch the flick Killing Them Softly with Brad Pitt and Richard Jenkins, which wasn't great, but had kind of a quirky griminess to it that most films avoid. In the process of looking for some information on it, I found out that Higgins had written it, and I'd already been curious about Eddie Coyle. I've got a couple of his novels on my shelf, but I haven't gotten around to them yet.

The Secret Agent is mine

I would read that one too, Jenny. The Secret Agent is also on my to-read list.

I'm not into crime so will pass in January, hoping I'll be able to catch up on other reads. I still have Cold Comfort Farm sitting on my shelf...
