Red's affiliation to the rebels was his own free willed choice. He could have lived a peaceful life content with being an idol but he sought after change. For his whole (very long) life Red has felt like property. His agents hauling him around from one place to another, signing one contract after another. Just for the entertainment of humans; how vile. His rage made his blood boil and his mind foggy with thoughts of revenge. What better revenge than to watch a bullet lodge itself into the hearts of his enemies, into the hearts of anyone who spoke ill of his kind? Being an assassin and also a very famous and lovable idol meant Red had to take caution and be strategic in his alter identities. He was the singer, dancer, and song writer to the band Phoenix and his personality was of a caring motherhen who spoiled his bandmates and his fans. The Red that everyone knew was a pleasant guy, often goofy and forgetful, but he was an empathetic and down to earth soul. His band mates however might also include the words clingy and attention whore into his description.
The personality shielded away from most of the population was that of an emotionless psychopath. When he was given a task to eliminate someone, all emotion would be void from his face. Even though he often wore a jeweled white mask to cover his identities, his cold stone and hard set eyes screamed danger. God help those who cross him.ƔƖƊƖ
It's easy enough to shrug off Hayoung's softheartedness and attribute it to some emotional malfunction, a botched line of code or an error in her system upgrade. What isn't so easy to shrug off is how fiercely she clings to these emotions, the "glitches" which make her seem so melodramatic and faulty in other people's eyes.
What these people fail to understand is that the very emotions that make Hayoung seem so weak are also what make her human. Her inexplicable meltdowns, her unpredictable tear ducts, her overly-compassionate nature, all of these things remind her that she is not merely a machine, that she, too, possesses a soul within her metal frame.
Besides, no one can deny that Hayoung is an amazing professor. She's more than capable of doing what she was first programmed to do, even if she has a few minor hiccups along the way. And Hayoung would like to think that she loves what she does — equipping the next generation of humanity with the tools they need to push forward, to make more breakthroughs and create more marvels.
Maybe The Humans are right. Maybe Hayoung will only ever be a machine. Maybe Hayoung will never be alive. Maybe everything Hayoung breathes and thinks and says is a result of sequences of coding even she can't understand. But Hayoung is more than that now. She has experiences and emotions, moments of pride and shame and joy and grief that no software update can wipe away. Regardless of the facts, no one can deny that Hayoung feels alive and for now, feeling is enough.

THE PERFECT EXAMPLE of why you need to pay attention to what you did and didn't delete from your coding project, Song Chul was originally going to be a Magister android — until the person in charge of his appearance made him distractingly pretty, and they decided that he'd be better off as a model than a psychology lecturer.
Unfortunately for everyone who has to deal with him, the person tasked with rewriting his code to suit a Practicus android was too lazy to take out the bit where he knows a lot about psychology and how to psychoanalyse people. It's mildly creepy to have him start staring blankly at you, and it often alarms people who meet him for the first time.
Chul is also very arrogant — though he has every right to be. He's incredibly talented at dancing, and his singing voice is fairly impressive (although he doesn't perform any songs). But it is a little off putting to be treated as boring, or to be told (loudly, unashamed) that ‘this is boring’. He looks bored, permanently, and he acts like a bored little kid.

To the public, Sunwoo is the adorable maknae of Phoenix, the most popular kpop group. No one would possibly think the “nation’s little brother” would a rebel, much less the leader. He’s too naïve and innocent, right? Wrong. Since the moment any android is first activated, they are put to work. They are given no form of opinion when it comes to what they do and how they should act. They were discriminated just because they were made in a factory and are sold for profit. If androids were built in the likeness of humans, if they are capable of emotions, shouldn’t they have a say in life instead of having to stand there and look pretty as they’re sold to the highest bidder?
“Androids are the evolution of humans.” This is the basis of Sunwoo’s ideals. Androids were made to be better than humans in every way. They can do the things that no human can ever dream of doing. CHAOS GOES WELL WITH CHILDREN, and Seunghoon's talent with explosives reflects this. He's something of an unconventional rebel — he loves the kids he works with, he gets along with the other teachers. The reason he's rebelling? Parent-teacher meetings full of anti-android sentiment. Concerned parents worried that an android is looking after their precious darlings, worried that he's brainwashing them or murdering them in secret. None of these parents, of course, have ever seen him with their kids, or they would have seen that he takes the utmost care with every kid in his care — they're the ones mistreating him, treating him like a climbing frame (not that he minds, because they're cute).

You might think that programming a housekeeping android as an eighteen-year-old boy might not be the smartest thing to do — given that eighteen-year-old boys tend to have very little interest in being helpful — but the people who made Dowoon had the sense to eliminate those... unhelpful character traits. Which leaves Dowoon as a helpful, respectful and reasonably mature eighteen-year-old who is also exceptionally friendly, bad at communicating with people his age, and loves architecture and space.
Scientists tend to be surprised by Dowoon's success. Which is rude because of course he was going to be successful, he was worked on for months and he's one of the newest models out there. Just because he's not one of their favourites (practicus: pretty; militus: good at bashing people up for abstrego) doesn't mean he's not good. Though, he isn't good. He's exceptional.
(yeah ok maybe he gets a bit salty about being underappreciated, but he's damn good at what he needs to do, so)
