Toby Felix Handson

Age: 17
Gender: Male
Birthday: May Third
Appearance:
Toby has brown hair that fades to a dirty blonde at the end. His hair is curly and he has slight features. Toby is shorter and more petite than males his age, but it is mostly due to some malnutrition he suffered as he was growing up. Toby has blue eyes and slightly pale skin with some freckling. Throughout his body, he has scars that are reminders of his past and when he was found, he even had some fresh wounds.
Personality:
As a child, Toby was boisterous and outgoing. He was incredibly close with his best friend and he was rarely unhappy. Now, Toby is a more reserved and quiet person. He takes a lot of time to asses situations.
History Prior to Abduction:
Toby's childhood was nearly perfect; he had two parents who loved him and he lived in a nice middle class neighborhood. He and his best friend, who lived on the same street, spent the majority of their time together. The two of them would go on adventures in the woods at the end of their street; building forts and making little dams for the streams. It was an ideal childhood, at least until one day when Toby was almost eight, a man approached him and took him away from everything he had ever known.
Current State:
Toby was found three states away from where he was taken after a social worker was asked to look in to his home life. It was not the first time authorities had investigated his family life, Toby can recall almost a dozen workers coming to ask questions. Every time they would come, Toby would answer exactly like his father had taught him to. The difference this time was that his father did not know anyone was coming and the worker saw incriminating evidence that could not be denied.
With his father in custody, Toby became a ward of the state and they started to look for relatives. Since Toby didn't really know of any, workers began to look through paper records, but some of the records were counterfeit. Once they began looking into things, they soon discovered Toby matched an age progression photo of a boy who had been kidnapped. A DNA test was performed, and it concluded that he was in fact the missing boy.
Back "Home":
After Toby went missing, his parent's marriage began to fall apart. The two were constantly fighting over whose fault it was and what they should do. His mother had insisted that Toby was still alive years after he went missing, but his father was only angered by her not moving on. The two divorced three years after the abduction. His mother, Linda, kept the house exactly as it had been and became very secluded, not talking to anyone unless she had to. His father, Marcus, had a few years where he drank too much, but eventually settled down. Marcus now has a new wife and a four year old daughter.

Age: 16
Gender: Male
Sexual orientation: Homosexual, but not out
Personality:
Eliot can be very shy at times, but he is also curious and often too curious for his own good. He tends to be much more sensitive than the other guys his age, but he does his best to hide it.
Family History:
Eliot's grandparents Ned and Freeda were devastated when their only daughter ran off with another high school student when she were only 16. They worried about her for years and then one day she wrote to them to let them know she and her classmate had a child. A few years later another child was born, though Ned and Freeda never met the children. When Eliot was 12 his mother, who had a drug problem for years by then, passed away from an over dose.
At first the father of Eliot and his older brother Andrew fought the grandparents for custody, but as his own drug habit got worse, it was clear he was no longer an option. During the year and a half custody was fought over, Eliot and Andrew stayed at a group home, but Andrew always looked after his younger brother. Once custody was settled upon, the two of them moved to the small wheat and corn farm.
Personal History:
Eliot was always more looked after by his brother than by his parents. He had seen his mother and father overdose more times than he could remember by the time she passed away. It had been him who found her and woken his brother to get help.
The move to the small town was not been a huge deal for Eliot, who was 13 at the time, but Andrew, who was 17, struggled fitting in. Not having many options, Andrew soon began hanging out with the sheriff's son and his group of friends. One night the group was drinking and messing around with fire on the farm when the sheriff's son Jackson decided to set the barn on fire. Andrew knew Eliot had been playing in the barn and went to go rescue him. Eliot made it out nearly unscathed, but a support beam fell down on to his brother as they were leaving.
The other boys ran from the scene, but Eliot remembered who they were. When the sheriff heard what Eliot was saying, he threatened him and his family. Still, Eliot continued to insist that Jackson had set the barn on fire. Having not headed the warnings, Eliot's life was made to be as hard as they could make it, turning the town against him and his family for the next two years. Rumors started spreading that Eliot had been the one to light the fire, even well after he withdrew his statement on the matter.
Occupation:
Elliot works on his grandparent's farm.
Pass Times:
Eliot is quite good at painting, mostly watercolor and he also enjoys playing the guitar and singing. His skills have never been admired in a town where everyone knows they are most likely to fill in their parent's footsteps.
