RHPL Summer Reading 2014 discussion

My first memorable novel was "Rebecca" by Daphne Du Maurier. I was in 5th or 6th grade, and the school bookmobile librarian handed me the book and said, "You will like this!" I could not put it down once I started reading it, and I remember how it made me feel to this day!

Loved that book!

"Great Expectations" was my first grown up book.

How did you happen to pick it up? Was it for school, or was it recommended?

The 'Clan of the Cave Bear' series by Jean Auel, it was the first time I felt I'd moved into grown up books.

For me it was Mary Poppins. I felt positively transported.
