At the beginning of the story, we get Cati’s (Catalina’s) point of view as she runs from her attacker. Were you hoping against hope that she survived? What major clue were we given from this scene?

She knew her attacker, but that didn't help me figure it out. I hoped she survived, but usually these opening scenes usually end in death.

Not only did she know her attacker but he was someone she apparently liked. I was so hoping she made it. It’s tough when the author gets you to feel something for a character so quickly and then they die.

The beginning got you immediately involved with the story. You really want her to survive, but have read enough of these books to know that the chances of that are slim. Now, you just want her murder solved.
