Library Love Challenge discussion

Hi Everyone,

I've recently added a group challenge feature to the page. I've never done one of these before in a group. Not sure how it will work. You may not be able to join the Challenge until Jan 1st 2018 when the challenge starts.

All group members may join the challenge. To join, you set your own goal (example, you can say you will read X number of books from the library). Then you specify a shelf, and only books added to that shelf, with read dates within the allotted challenge time period, will count toward the challenge.

NOTE: We do not know if your book meets the description standards, obviously. So any book you add to your challenge shelf will count; you can explain how it fits in the comments if necessary.

On the main challenge page, you will be able to see who has entered the challenge and your group challenge stats.

I hope I did this all correctly and you guys enjoy this setting.

Oh cool! I have liked having it for the audiobook challenge. For that we all name our shelf the same thing. Do we need to do that here? I just thought of this. But they count up a group goal so if we are not maybe that isn't needed. Thanks Angela!

I'm glad you like it for the audiobook challenge. I'm not fully sure how the challenge will work, since I've actual never done a group challenge in a goodreads group before, so I'm playing it by ear. We can't accept the challenge it until Jan 1st 2018, since that is when it starts. I did find some information on goodreads on how it works and posted that up top hear on the page.

For me: I set up a shelf on my profile named it Library Love. That way I can put all the library books I read into it and use it every year instead of putting up a new shelf each year. I also have a 2018 Library Love Challenge shelf too, but will not link that one only the Library Love shelf, since it sounds like it will only put the books read in the time frame listed in the challenge to that challenge.

It's January 1st and you can now join in the group challenge set up on the front page of the Library Love Challenge.

All you have to do is put in the # number of books you plan to read from the library and then pick a shelf (this is the self you plan to post your library books too). My self is a generic "library-love". Since I delete all the ones that have a year on them after the year is over.
