AWESOME book club today! We had 3 new people, 1 on phone tie-in.
We brought food inspired by our favorite books. I made bacon wrapped, stuffed jalapenos in honor of Fahrenheit 451. Christine made cupcakes in honor of The Poisonwood Bible. I'll post the recipe to the jalapenos separately.

The only change I made was to use regular paprika instead of smoked simply because I already had the regular paprika. I think I would have liked the smoked better, I adore anything with a smoke flavor. I almost used volcanic salt for that reason but stuck with regular salt.
In future, I would not use a cookie sheet as this recipe calls for. I would use a broiler pan. The bacon will drip and it is very dangerous to remove it from the oven with the bacon grease on just a flat surface. My sister recently got 2nd degree burns from removing bacon out of the oven. So I want an actual dish to collect the grease next time.

I agree, awesome book club today! Welcoming new people was a highlight for sure and the discussion was one of the best yet. The characters in this book gave us plenty to discuss. There were flaws, but yet they all fit their roles perfectly. It was "textbook" character development and the storyline was simple in the end. All in all, an easy read and fun discussion.
