GoodReads' First Readers discussion

I just noticed that there are several books from the last few days' giveaways with a 'winners pending' status. I'm relatively new at this and curious as to how long books stay in "winners pending" status. The note at the top of each giveaway page says winners will be selected in 24 hours, but for some it has been longer than 24 hours. For those of you who've entered the giveaways longer than I have (5 months), any clue as to how long it takes for winners to be chosen when a particular giveaway is in pending status?

I have always received my notices within 12 hours of the drawings. The time stamps are very early (3-5am)

I have too for the books that I've won. But it appears that for some books the actual drawings have not happened. On the giveaway pages for a lot of the contests over the last few days the following messages are listed

"Voting is over but the winners have not been selected yet. They will be selected within the next 24 hours."

"Closed for new entries, winners will be chosen shortly."

When I looked at several contests for the last few days (a few are listed below) they still say "winners Pending" although it has been longer than 24 hours. I'm certainly not complaining as goodreads has been great to me with regards to winning books. I just am curious about what happens with those giveaways where a winner wasn't chosen by the end date?

I use my email as my notifier. That way, if I lose, I don't feel cheated. My oroblem is sometimes, the TBR check rolls over to Read when choices are reported
