Well good luck. I just found it hard to find books written by an author from a country and based in that country. This year I'm going to try to find authors from countries I have not read no matter where the book is based.

I loved A Fine Balance!

4. Africa/Benin: [book:History and Culture of Benin republic: National Economy, Ethnic Relations and histo..." It is one of the best reads I have had for a while. The storylines are so bleak and unfortunately realistic.

It's summer, it is hot, we are camping and the Kindle is full of books to read while sitting in the shade.


Maybe something was lost in the translation but a could have been great book became an OK one. Broken Glass spends his time drinking red wine in a bar, everyday for years. The owner of the bar asks him to write down his observations of the people and surrounds.
There starts a book with no capitals or full stops, some humorous episodes and reflections of Broken Glass's world. It started well but petered out when BG started to talk about the process of writing.
