Like most quidditch pitches, the Hogwarts pitch is in the shape of an oval, five-hundred feet long and one-hundred eighty feet wide, with a small central circle of approximately two feet in diameter, from which all the balls are released at the start of the game. At each end there are three hooped goal posts of different heights, surrounded by a scoring area. The Hogwarts pitch features spectator seating in the form of towers.

Practices may be conducted at the discretion of the students. Team captains may reserve the pitch through the Headmistress and post practice meets to their House Announcements board.

Matches, however, will be played via polls that everyone will vote on to help their favorite team win the game. The following is an explanation of how matches will work. Please direct any questions to the Questions/Comments & Suggestions topic.

**Note: Quidditch matches will not take place until there is a minimum of 10 students in each House. 7 are team members, 2 are Prefects, and the other is a normal student (to make it an even number lol). Students who wish to be on the teams must apply.
**When quidditch matches are going to be held, the mods will post
the lineup in the General Announcements topic, and in the Announcments boards for the Houses scheduled to play.
**Polls will be open for 48 hours to allow everyone time to vote. Everyone, not just team members, may, and should, vote! Even if your House is not playing, vote for your favorite team playing.
**After voting is over, the mods will write an announcers' transcript of the game to declare the winner and post it on the Quidditch pitch. The Headmistress will post the final score in all announcements boards, with special congratulations on the winner's board.
**Poll results will not be made visible until after the poll has closed.
