I have been working on this series since the end of season 2 of the Starz series. I am currently working on book 5 - The Fiery Cross (about 1/3 read). I have purchased them all in additon to the side material. Sounds like you are just starting out, so i will let you lead any discussion based on where you are at reading. Nice to meet you.

Hello, Thank you for starting the group 2018! I’m fairly new to the Outlander series but have been trying to catch up since S3. I’m on book 4 at the moment and can’t put it down. Great writing by Writer_DG! Love everything about this series especially the life long choices that Jamie’s character makes not to mention Claire’s. Look forward to the posts here.

Hi again:) I’m on the 5th book now and still loving the continuation of love life adventures of the Fraser’s! So much happened and I am taken back at the courage and integrity of the characters! Quite remarkable story!

I did mange to read 6 or 7 chapters this weekend though. I agree this is an epic story but so far i have liked the books in the following order 2, 3, 1, 4, and so far 5.
:) cool glad we’re on same book in the series! I’m still fascinated by these characters Claire, Brianna, and Roger to adapt so quickly and get acclimated as if they have always been part of the 18th century...simply horse back riding would be a challenge enough not to mention few other traveling challenges. Bathrooms! Yes how in the world would you get comfortable with an outhouse! Haha! I honestly don’t know...Sorry in a crazy moment right now;) I mean it’s not like camping for a few days and get back to indoor comforts :)) They’ve made choice to be the 18th for life <3 love it makes you do quite bizarre things I suppose. That’s what they are doing it for after all!
I am quickly becoming engaged in this series, I just have so much going on right now I don't get to read like I want to!
I am glad to see all the comments and enjoy reading them!

Yes I have to admit that it’s certainly their binding love and commitment that these characters are doing everything to make the time travel seems like no big deal at all <3 it is a beautiful thing, commitment. It feels great to be able to see your lost loved ones back again like Jamie+Claire had thought each other to have died but to be able to see each other again, it must feel miraculous because it really is for them! Two Decades living apart from each convinced that the other is no more! And yet miraculously Jamie survives and Claire finds him <3 their bond and choice of commitment to each other is uniquely inspiring of course. Diana Gabaldon has captured this at every step of the story and these remarkable choices<3
Hi, have read a bit more on fiery cross and just finished the chapter of the same name. Goodness gives me the chills about the beginnings of fiery crosses and the characteristics of the darkest chapter in our country’s history! Diana G certainly brings attention to the beginnings of so many historical aspects. First it was the “husband disciplining wives” matter that was not so easy to read through and now this.

Its amazing how things can be done for one purpose then get twisted by those who never understood what the original purpose of an action was.
I know I said this group was no pressure and that was for myself, but geez I wish I could just get a few hours of reading time in. I just want to catch up a bit! :)
Dont worry! I kind of flew through the first 4 in about 14 months, With this 5th book, I've reading it on and off since September. Some of these books are huge, but the stories inside are worth getting to when you can enjoy them. I am very glad you started this group, as i usually feel like everyone reads past me at record pace. No pressure were the best words to see when i found your group
