- I absolutely struggled with this book and nearly banged my head against the wall trying to stay awake. I only read it because it's one of my stepdad's favorites but good god.
- it was fine but the plot was oddThese three were fine and all but not enough for me to want to continue with the series.
These were so bad that I couldn't even finish the book:
I enjoyed the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead and was enjoying the Bloodlines spin-off series until I read
which I did not enjoy. I rated it two stars, and to be honest I can't remember much about it at all. I did start the next book but gave up and doubt I'll ever finish the series. It was fun while it lasted.

I got through the second book in the series but it was hard. I never ended up reading the third one.
Trying to come up with books I didn't like so much has made me realise how good of a reading year I had last year. However there are a couple of books I don't look back on with the fondest of memories...
- I was sooo excited for this book and really enjoyed the first part of it. But then it went off in all these random directions and added in loads of unnecessary elements - distracting from everything I'd liked about the story in the first place. Ultimately I think I was just expecting a very different book to the one I got, and was disappointed when I didn't get it.
- I actually enjoyed this quite a bit while I was reading it, but looking back it feels like I kind of wasted my time on it. It was just sooo generic and to me, it felt like it brought absolutely nothing new to the table. Younger readers might like it, but it wasn't really for me.
- I know this series is well loved, and I can see why, as I didn't hate these books, but I had too many issues to enjoy them that much. In a nutshell, I thought Lola had too much angst and not enough quirkiness, and Isla had too much melodrama.
- Like Destiny Revealed, this was another one that was vaguely entertaining but just not that interesting. I definitely think you could pass this one by, and I kind of wish I had done.
- I actually dnf-ed this book and it was my only 1 star of the year. I really hated all the characters and a lot of the author's decisions just didn't make sense to me.
- This one had some really interesting things to say about race and American culture, but I found the story really lame and the main character frustrating. As the story went on, her flaws just became more ingrained in her, and after everything they granted her a happy ending, which I just really hate. Sooo basically I just look back at this book in aggravation now.
This is so strange because all of these books apart from The Untethered I gave three stars. I gave zero two star ratings last year. I think I'm going to have to be more harsh with my three stars in 2018!
