As stated in the Monthly Readalongs Topic, I lost my dad in December. It was crushing and has brought about HUGE changes in my life and this is one of them.

The bookish community has always been a bright star in what can be a challenging world. No matter how sad a day gets or how happy I feel, I turn to the bookish world and it gets BETTER!

So, I really want to make bookish elements a focus of my life. Its much needed “me” time and “destress” time. So, here are my changes!!

With the help of fellow moderator, Jody, we have created “The Archives”. Its a focus on reading the books on your shelf or sharing the beloved books on your shelf with others. We are digging into those dusty shelves ansd pulling out treasures!

So, each week I will be running activities on Twitter to help you remember why you bought those books and help you get excited about them/share them! Here’s the schedule:

Mondays: We will be doing Follower Highlights. I am deeply grateful for all of you! I want to get to know you better and help promote your content! Please DM me on Twitter or send me a private msg here if you are interested in being featured. The info needs to fit inside a tweet and include your favorite content links. Tell us why you joined or what kinds of books you like? What are your hobbies or how long have you been reading? Tell us what you want to share :) Send me a message and Ill make a list. One person each monday!

Wednesdays: 10 Second Challenge weekly topic announcements! I explained this best over on twitter but this would be amazing fun for a Booktuber (though EVERYONE can please participate). I will give you a topic “Red Books”. You turn your back to your shelves and set the timer (or count lol). When ready, you have 10 seconds to turn toward your shelves and grab as many “red books” as you can!! Then, tell us about those books! How long have they been on your shelves? Why did you purchase them in the first place? Are they part of a series? Have you already read them and reviewed them? Share away!! Then wait till next week for the next fun topic. As we “speak” lol, our first topic is METALLIC BOOKS. So please try it and spread the word!

Fridays: We will be posting random games. I have a list that I will be choosing from. The games will be chosen randomly , but they will keep coming back in different forms. So if you enjoy a particular game, please let us know!! Come play along!!!

Over the weekend, I will be RTing these highlights/games and you are welcome to try them again or participate if you missed one. Ok? Make sense?

Lastly, we are working on a Readathon idea! This is top secret and you will have to wait for more details lol but be very excited!!!

If you have any questions, please let me know. Until then, whats on your 2018 MUST READ list?

Veronique | 12 comments I'm sorry to hear about your father
I wish you and your family a lot of strength to get through this awful time

For the changes I absolutely love your ideas
I love talking with other people about the books I love and I've recently met the amazing people from booktwitter (@booksunhealthy that's me)

I also love hyping older books because on booktube and Twitter it is mostly new releases and I just don't have the money to buy newer releases

Thank you SO much!!

Yes, I while Im obsessed with Booktube and Blogs, they do focus on new releases a lot. I think it comes with the territory. They get ARCs and need to promote them. Which is wonderful! Im not knocking them. I adore them and their insights. I have a list of books because of them! Lol

There’s also the side, where I can afford to keep up. I dont get ARCs and probably wont ever get them. So I focus on book sales and things like that.

Those books are never mentioned and I feel like we are all missing out! So whether its financial or you want to wait till the hype dies down...we can come here!! :)
