Piper stood straight her body pressed against the cold metal lockers looking up at the girls standing before her. She should never had come to her locker. She should have know they would be waiting. After what she did yesterday she should have guessed they wanted their revenge. That was just how the world worked. She got her revenge they got theirs and it just went on that endless cycle. And that's why Piper had gotten used to, so she just listened to their insults waiting until they were done or had run out. Insults never hurt it was their powers that did."Ew no don't get that close you might get her disease." One squealed swatting her partner in crime on the arm. "Then we to will waist away to nothing and we can have that. We have to much to do in our life. She's fine to waist away I think everyone will be happy if she did." It was all the same girl. Her henchmen weren't as bad. Miss Queen bee here was the worst, the bad thing about her being her all to willingness to use her powers. Her burning powers.
"She like a skeleton." The other girl spoke up causing a fit of giggle from Queen Bee.
"I think she is dead. Does that mean she does feel pain?" Queen bee asked a creating a small flame on the palm of her hand. Piper flinched away making another around of giggles sprout form the girls.
"Oh look little skeleton it sacred of fire. Well she should be." Queen Bee growled hovering the flame right up close to Piper
(( *Applauds loudly* It's freaking perfect! I have no idea how you write so much it's like a novel. Well you set the bar high tho I have no idea if I can match that.))
The useless metal surrounding the lockes bent back around Pipers small figure as she tried to escape the flame, almost willing the lockers to hide her, for the flimsy metal to engulf her and take her away. Problem was Miss Queen Bee was loving it. Piper always learnt to never show her reaction, that’s the bit the they loved, but when they got their powers out it was hard. Especially when they threatened to burn her face off. Or as they put it her “ugly skeletal desseised face.” Which was packing so many insults in one sentence it made her laugh. There insults got worse every day. Now they put three hurtful words in one simple sentence it was almost like they had given up. Though the little flickering flame on the girls plam didn’t lie. It’s red tendril reaching out almost as if it’s sole purpose was to inflict pain on her. In many ways then one, that was not funny. Not, one, bit. Now Piper did have to option of trying to blow the fire out with her air ‘abilities’ but she had tried before, and learnt the hard way it didn’t work. It either made the flame bigger, giving oxygen to the flames made them grow and spread, which in this case wasn’t a good thing. It would be lying to say she had never used the trick before. Because she has, many, many times. Mostly to get back at the police, those pesky little things. With a lighter and her powers the building could be up in the pretty little flame within minutes. The little red and yellow sparks of distortion leaving a trail ash behind it everything it touches turning black. Back then it was a sight to watch. Right now piper didn’t want to be reduced to a pile of ash. Watching sin burn and blister was less entertain than watching wood burn, especially when it was her burning. Pipers hands balling into fists her long chipped nail digging into her flesh. There was no getting away so she would just have to face it. Face it and not let Queen Bee she the tears. She wasn’t about to give them the satisfaction of showing weakness. That was the one thing they wanted. Piper twisted her face away from the flames as they strained to touch her even though the heat was enough. As she flinched away from the flames, Piper noticed a small black shape sitting behind the three girls. It was looking at her, straight at her with those silvery blue eyes. Yet look in its eyes showed innocents, curiosity. It took Piper a second to actually realize what it actually was but it didn’t take her long to figure out what the fox meant. There was only one with a fox like this one. He better stay out of this. Piper thought knowing he would make it worse if he tried. But low and behold he shoved his nose into it. Then again what was Piper expecting. With no more warning the Fox leapt up onto one of Queen Bees henchmen causing her to let out a loud ear piercing scream as she backpedaled, trying to swat it off her shoulder. None of the three had seen it sitting there until it made itself all to know so they were all taken by surprise when it presented itself. Even Queen Bee who’s flame flickered a moment as she attention was drawn away. However like every time she regrouped herself her flame coming back into existence, glowing a dark blue reflecting her anger. She wasn’t used to having her attacks interrupted. Once the Fox leapt down it faced the girls standing between her and them, the soft innocent look completely vanished like it wasn’t even there replaced with a bloodthirsty look that made the girls back away slightly. Queen Bee however held her ground, flame glowing brightly on the palm of her hand. That’s when he made his entrance. Piper snarled watching as Nikolai gripped Queenies flaming hand a charming smile on his face. Piper rolled her eyes as she started slipping out fire puns a cold purr to his tone that made Piper feel sick. Why any girl feel for this she didn’t know. As much as Piper wanted to punch his pretty little face she didn’t. The shocked look on Queenies face was to priceless, especially when her hand turned pale. And the look on her partners faces were just as good. As far as she knew Nikolai wasn’t doing anything silly Illusion thing to them so it must have been the foxes deathly look that had them trembling. Oh how lovely it was to see the roles reversed. Piper just watched as Nikolai dealt with Queenie twisting her words around using his looks and his charm. It was only when He stepped between her and the girls did Piper start caring. He might be trying to make things better but he was failing miserably. She saw the gleam in Queenies eyes as she took in the scene in front of her, Piper could almost hear her thoughts. Nikolai defending Piper, wont this make a good story. “Fine, you’re right I have much better things to do.” Queenie said a dangerous tone to her voice, and that’s what sacred Piper the most. Queenie had an idea and Piper had a sick feeling she knew what it was.
“See you around Skeleton.” With her final laugh she spun on her heels a storde off swinging her hips as she walked. With one last worried look at the fox her minions following behind like lost sheep. Piper huffed as she watched them disappear around the bend Queenie giving her one last wave before leaving the range of sight. “Thanks for nothing.” Piper growled a tight look on her face as she step briskly out from behind him and walked off the opposite way Queenie and her minions went.
((OK good I was like this really shouldn't have taken me that long. Hahaha the lack of anything but sarcasm can be expected form piper, but his expression will be priceless XD))
((Ahem ummm we are kinda using this page thingie. I mean i would be happy to combine i Rps I guess but for the time being we are using this thread.))
(( A A AA A i'm sorry!! i deleted it :)) ))
((It perfectly fine :-) For the past few days I was busy as well and had no time what so ever to reply. So if it makes you feel any better I wasn't keapt waiting.)) Piper couldn’t help but grin slightly as she walked away. Though it was a near miss from getting another burn the look on Nikolais face as she walked away was priceless, hopefully that stopped him from ever trying to ‘help’ her again. To be honest she didn’t even care if he became an enemy of hers after she returned so little gratitude. She would honestly rather that then have the rumors go around. It was easier trying to convince others they weren’t a thing when they did actually hate each other then trying to convince the same thing but when he was actually kind to her, not like she would ever return the favor. She made it a few meters away, which she saw as an achievement, before she heard the familiar sound of footsteps behind her accompanied by the soft patter of paws. Piper sighed just as Nikolai slid up beside her with one of his cheeky grins and matched her fast pace showing his intent was to stay, much to Pipers annoyance and against her wishes. She liked being alone. And being alone meant not having flirtatious boys following her with their pet illusions. Great now he’s just making matters worse. Piper huffed to herself. Guess i'm just going to have to lose him. Then he made it all worse. He started talking. It was annoying enough having people walking beside her let alone talking to her and expecting a reply. Especially if it was a thank you. Those were words Piper didn’t dish out easy. So Piper just didn’t. She just looked straight ahead not paying any attention to him as he complained about how she didn’t say a good thank you or to the curious look his little fox was giving her behind her back. To be honest she couldn’t care less. Besides she wanted him gone as soon as possible, preferably without having to hurt him, so hopefully if she didn’t return the favor of talking he would get bored and go waste his time on some other girl. Then again this was Nikolai they were talking about. He wouldn’t back down so easy if he got interested in something, or in this case someone, and she should have realized this, but she didn’t. And he didn’t leave. Instead the words kept falling from his mouth like a waterfall. She almost wanted to strangle him just so they would stop. But one sentence made her crack. He was every so annoying and her mouth itched to spit out a reply. So for this one case she opened her mouth letting her voice fill the air that had suddenly gotten very cold. “Wow you’re right! I would rather burn.” She started off with fake excitement then let it fall into a dangerous growl at the last word. However the words seemed not to worry him. In fact he just kept going adding a purr to his voice that made her shiver. Yes the had a reputation good job him for realizing. No, she couldn’t care. She heard of it, that doesn’t mean she could care or that that was the reason she wasn’t talking, he was just to full of himself and that was even more reason why the was so painful. So when he asked to walk with her to Talk with her, Piper just stared at him like he was a lunatic. Yeah right she would talk about herself to some random she just met. When he flashed her one of his soft “love me” looks Piper meet it with her own scowl. His golden eyes glowing warmly, invitingly, shining through his dark locks like a light piercing through the gloom. Her blue and brown one’s going dark and deadly, filling with ice that perfectly match her tangle of midnight heir. She wasn’t going to fall for it though she could see how that trap could be easily fallen for. Many girls would go weak in the knees from this look. But that wasn’t happening to Piper, she wouldn’t let it. Despite her cold glare he didn’t seem to take the message and leave. Of cores the stayed and talked. So Piper stayed and proceeded to ignored him.
To be honest as time past Piper got used to it. It was clear, no matter how many times she lashed out, he seemed to take her words throwing them aside and bouncing back like nothing happened. The, like always, continued talking. Even her threats on is life he seemed to wave of with a laugh and on of those priceless grins. He was making it very clear that the wasn’t going to leave any time soon. Piper had no idea how she did it but she had caught his interest. Had gained his full attention without even meaning to or knowing how or even wanting it. And now he wasn’t leaving anytime soon. Many girl would love this but Piper wasn't just any girl. So Piper just stopped caring and started daydreaming completely tuning him out and just putting her body in autopilot so it didn’t run into anything. She had no idea how long they walked like that but Piper was completely intent of staying like that until Nikolai got bored of her and left. However he clearly had other plans. Because she wasn't paying any attention what so ever when his fox decided to jump onto her shoulder Piper let out and startled yelp followed by a curse. Dumb fox She snarled to herself after realizing what was on her shoulder. Despite being an illusion her weight was all to real and the feel of her fur on Pipers neck and cheek felt to dang soft for it being fake. If there was one thing in this guy the got her interest it was his all too real illusions and how he could do that without seemed to use much effort. If she tried to make something from air she would likely pass out just after making it. Yet Nikolai seemed unfazed by it. Stopping walking Piper turned to Nikolai. “Get your mongrel off me.” She hissed that being the first thing she had said in ages. And of course it wasn’t nice, like usual. She didn’t know what it meant or what Nikolai was getting at by making his painful pet use her shoulder as a resting place but she didn’t like it. Piper scrunched up her nose as the fox pressed it's little paws against her cheek before leaping gracefully onto Nikolais shoulder. Piper scowled again rubbing her shoulder. She knew it was only a figment of Nikolais mind but it still felt real and Piper didn’t like it. “Great. It’s good to know your imagination find me interesting. It’s totally what I wanted.” Piper said in reply to Nikolais flirt. She didn’t want his attention in general and found it a bad thing that his silly little pet also and an interest in her. To be honest though his little sassy fox was the thing the liked most about him. Especially when it bit him. He totally deserved that. Piper just stared at him after his last comment arm folded across her chest. She tired to make sense of what the meant but it just didn’t make sense. His imagination liked her more than it liked him? Was that right? Piper just shrugged it off and started walking again. “No you don’t see why we can’t get along.” Piper retorted. It would take a lot more than him playing hero and trying to stop her getting burnt then following her like halfway around the school purely because he was interested and bored to get her to lower her defenses and actually let them be on neutral ground. “Trust me on this one Nikolai you and your pet illusion don’t want to ‘get along’ with me. You saw how much those girls love me and that reflects how much this school in general loves me. You don’t want to be in association with me or that.” She warned picking her long strides back up as she continued down the hall. She was Not trying to make him feel bad for her and tempt him into hanging around her. That’s what she didn’t want. She was just being brutally honest. In fact she would be perfectly happy if he just left. Then again this was still Nikolai they were talking about. He would more than likely take her words completely different or try play hero again, making it his personal challenge to get under her skin. And again Piper didn’t think of that. Didn’t realize who she was talking with and how careful she had to be with her words. Not yet anyway.
Yes I am, that’s why you should leave. Piper thought to herself after he called her blunt. She wasn’t exactly being blunt she was being honest. Brutally honest but still honest, which in a way was amazing for her. The words Piper and honest never really worked together, unless she was being brutally honest, she could do that quite gladly and quite well. She felt immense pleasure as his stride and smile faltered, clearly she had done something to get him to crack. Done something to make him consider befriending her. Of course Piper didn’t know what made him like that but she hoped, in some sick way, she could do it again. Like usual though Nikolai came back matching her long strides and going back to babbling. About what? Piper didn’t know and didn’t want to. What she didn’t realize was he was doing exactly what she didn’t want. He was twisting her word completely. Just like she feared.Piper realized something was going to go terribly wrong when that annoying cheeky grin past across his face. That smile meant nothing good. Especially when on Nikolais face. Piper tensed shivering slightly when he called her ‘my dear.’ She was Not his, and in no way was she his dear and she never would be either of them. The only thing she agreed on in his sentence was her sharp tongue. But at the same time she wasn’t about to take compliments from him. This Nikolai for goodness sake. He had probably dished out many compliments like this before, hers was nothing special. She was just another challenge he was determined to beat. Thing was Piper was determined not to be beat. For once Piper listen intently to his offer. His words shocked her slightly. Why was she so special? Why couldn't he go run around after another girl? Why did she, she of all people, get his full attention. Piper let out a bitter laugh at his choice of words. Companions. It went from just getting along to becoming companions. Like either of those were ever going to happen.
Now Nikolai wasn’t the only one that could hide true meanings. Despite her laughter his words shook her. His confident tone was terrifying. He seemed to determined to win her favor, to win her love, to win her friendship. Piper didn’t even know what he wanted from her but he sounded so confident that he would get it it made Piper monetarily think maybe he would. She hadn’t let someone in for years and didn’t plan to any time soon. But with all of Nikolai prying it seemed like one way or another she would eventually give in. Which sacred her. What would happen if she, herself, got attached? Right now he only seemed to want to be companions but Piper wasn’t sure, was that really all a guy like Nikolai wanted from a girl like her? Her guess was no.
Piper actually listened as Nikolai went on with his speech. She was curious what other weird things he would say. That’s what she told herself anyway. She knew Nikolai wasn’t going to give up, he made that perfectly clear, so Piper thought she might as well listen to his rambles, for her pure entertainment. Piper scoffed rolling her eyes. Nikolai thought too highly of himself. He wasn’t invincible, not even to Queen Bee. She had immense about’s of power here in this school. But if Nikolai was invincible so was Piper. She could quite easily get rid of Queeny and she would never return to harass her. Ever. But Piper already had blood on her hands she didn’t want more if she could help it. Piper opened her mouth thinking of the perfect reply but Nikolai seemed to predict her doing that and continued before she could get a word in. Brat Piper thought but let him continue.
“In fact I would have liked it better if you enjoyed watching me burn. I would have enjoyed it better that for sure.” Piper snapped back once she finally got a word in. She felt the air tense this time not because of her. This time she had a feeling it was because of Nikolai. She saw his pet illusion tense and the golden gleam in his eyes fade but Piper didn’t pay attention. He said Queeny didn’t decide everyone's opinion. But Piper knew her better then the did and in fact she did decide everyone's opinion. The school hated her and just because Nikolai was a one of the wired few doesn’t mean the rest of the school liked her. Yes Nikolai was one of the very few who talked to her but he was also one of the many she dedicated her life to pushing away. She said it once she would say it hundred times more. She didn’t want him.
Piper herself teased when Nikolai relaxed resuming with his normal charming smile Piper hated. He was trying to disarm her caution, trying to cross lines that Piper never let anyone past. She would give in, never. “Luckie for you maybe.” Piper grumbled under her breath as he finally said it out loud and offered himself as an ally or a weapon. Then he added if she would let him. Piper snorted ad rolled her eyes. Surely the knew that answer to that. Despite his determination, and the all to genuine hint in his voice that made Piper shiver, she wasn’t about to change her answer. She had two letters for him N O. It might make it easier for him if she accepted him but it wouldn’t make to easier for her. Not at all. Technically he didn’t need her permission to follow her like a creep but it would be nice if he did. Or nice if the even asked though she answer would be no and Nikolai likely knew that. But his wink made up her mind. NO. Despite the dead seriousness in his voice Piper couldn’t help but pick up, her answer was still and always would be no.
Piper didn’t trust. Piper had learnt how badly trusting people went. She trusted her parents, her siblings, and look how that ended for her. This time Piper actually spoke up. She normally kept her thoughts to herself but Nikolai just needed to get his head out the clouds. “You realize you are asking the impossible from me.” She said not even slightly matching his friendly tone that he used on her. She couldn’t match it if she wanted. “I don’t trust, I can’t trust and no one can make my life more, enjoyable. The only way you can do that it to leave.” Piper answered in clear denial of his offer. But of course once she started she didn’t stop. She was on a roll and the harsh words kept coming. “You are not my prince in this. I don’t need a dam prince. I can’t quite easily defy against those have wronged me on my own thank you very much.” Piper couldn’t even be polite unless she was using the words harshly. “I’m not a pathetic little girl that I may seem like. Amazingly I can take care of myself and have been doing do so for many years. I don’t want you promises I don’t even want you here. Thought I know you’re not giving up. You have made that painfully clear and i’m not dumb. So follow me all you want but I have one word for you. NO. It will take a lot more then some petty promises for my answer to become yes. If it ever does.” Piper finished amazed at how much she said. It wasn’t surprising that none of it was nice. She expected that but she didn’t expect herself to go out onto such a tangent. Piper hardly ever spoke that much she hoped Nikolai didn’t take that as a good thing. It wasn’t Piper was just venting her frustration and trying to make him see things her way. Not his way in his magical fairy world.
A flurry of sick pride ran through Piper as Nikolai turned away for her, seemingly struggling to compose himself. Piper didn’t know what had done it but, what she had said that seemed to affect him so badly that even his ever present smile wavered and the golden gleam in his eyes dimmed. But whatever had done it, whatever she said, Piper hoped that would put an end to painful naging. Piper had done it once before in this conversation. She had dimmed the light in his eyes but the hadn’t yet looked away like this. Hadn’t yet actually succumb to her bitter words the Piper was so good a spitting out. As much as she would hate to admit it he had done well tolerating her so long. Many would have either left her by now or punched her. The later was often the reaction on the street. Many of them, like her, had little tolerance to things. They would rather act first think later which often was what got her in the police station so many times. People fought fire with fire out on the street, kind words were never uttered. In all honesty Piper wasn’t use to kind words, she never knew how to react when someone made an effort to be nice. Someone made an effort to help her. She was used to kill or be killed, some time quite literally. She had blood on her hands. A lot more than a 17 year old should have. A lot more than any person should have. A lot more than she wanted to admit. But no one knew this. If they did they would run for her in terror, even Nikolai. The wouldn’t go ‘let me help because why not.’ No one ever did that. And no one would do that if they knew her dark past. But many already left her alone. They either avoided the lady killer or quickly learnt to. That was why she fought so hard to kick Nikolai away. Everyone left after she gave them no response, some lasted to her her first round of brutal replies then left. But Nikolai was different. The had survived many of her word attacks and always bounced back with those sweetened grins and eye flutters. This was the only time the actually failed to bounce back fast. Which made her pride go up but also her a sense of worry creep in. How had he tolerated so much? As much as Piper hoped that last snarky speech of hers would drive him away she almost wasn’t surprised that he looked back at her, this time a frown written on his face as he pondered her words. Now Piper could read faces, she just couldn’t, but she knew when someone was conflicted between two facial expressions. Especially with someone like Nikolai who seemed more than happy to show his thoughts on his face. She didn’t know what those feelings were, she couldn’t read that much, but she knew they were there, knew her words stumped him. Made him actually have to think, which brought great pleasure to the sick mind that was Pipers. Finally Nikolai seemed to decide on a feeling, still one Piper couldn’t read but his next words she most definitely understood. Piper heard his words but his was the little mouth twitch that annoyed her. The way he seemed to find entertainment her in efforts to get rid of him. He knew nothing. The corners of Piper's mouth turned down as he continued. Piper folded her arms but listened as he went on, slightly impressed with his choice of words. He even added some type of sharp edge in his words which annoyed her but was being to speak the language she spoke. After detecting that the sharpe tone was some strange form of mockery Piper opened her mouth to retort but Nikolai cut her off, continuing his speech. Piper growled slightly but shut up letting him speak. Desipe how much he was annoying her.
It would be lying to say that Piper didn’t regret letting him speak. Because she almost did. Nikolais next word shock her just as much as her words shocked him before. Not only had he fully returned the bitter fire she used in her voice but he also accused her of letting it happen. Of letting herself be burnt. “I will most certainly help you out and say no, that is not the best I can do. I can do much more that you don’t even know about, and you don’t want to know about. You would run far far away from me if you knew what I have done.” Piper cut in. The usual bite was still in her tone but the frown was gone replaced with a stargne smirk. Nikolai was now speaking a language she knew. The one that was always spoken on the street but kids at this school never used. He was fighting fire with fire and Piper knew exactly what to to. Knew exactly how to reply. He wasn’t speaking kindly or softy like the had been before. He was speaking with pure sweet fire. Speaking harshly but Piper saw how easy the words flowed off his tongue in one smooth motion. How easy he said them with a bitter sweet undertone. Piper couldn’t read faces but she read this language perfectly. And for once in the conversation did Piper actually relax slightly a creepy but sweet grin on her face like she knew she had been bad but loved it. She knew what every little word ment, unlike when he was being nice and confusing her.
Sadly Nikolai ruined the moment but choosing the wrong set of words and wrong set of actions. The started off good. In no way was he her knight in shining armour but the was exactly when the went down hill. The called her afraid. And he did it with a knowing tone and little to no hesitation. Pipers smirked changed very dark as he picked at her trust issue. Saying she was afraid of letting him close. Then the stepped closer. Piper tensed, all her muscles growing tight as if ready to take a punch. No one ever moved this close to her, ever, unless they were plain on punching her. They were inches apart but Piper couldn’t bring herself to back down. As much as she hated it, hated him and his silly words she was still a 17 year old girl with a highly handsome boy right in front of her. Piper never had felt love and she wasn’t close to feeling it now but having his breath against her skin did send a wave on tingles down her body. Piper cursed herself for being so weak and not pulling back when she should have. She hated his boy and she so should have slapped him by now but Piper couldn’t. His intense stare and his closeness had her confused. But one thing she knew was his words. They were bitter and painful but true. She hadn’t realized how obvious it was but then again she was talking about Nikolai here, he picked up one every little thing. And all Piper knew was he was right, she didn’t trust him. She didn’t know what to think about him, someone so desperate to get close to her. He had called out her only fear, bretched all her defense she put up to try stop anyone reaching her fears, but the had done it and now left her bare and defenceless in the middle of the hall.
Surprisingly Nikolai was the first to back off an Piper hadn’t even slapped him to make him do so. She just stood frozen in place her eyes staring straight ahead. Her breath was ragged almost as if she was fight tears. He was trying to use her fear against her. Trying to get her trust with the promise of getting over her past. But the blood on her hands was no something that could be overcome. She couldn’t just forget about the people she killed. She had been tortured, she had been left in the dust by her own family. She had been almost killed and she had killed. And him, the all so handsome Nikolai, was telling her he could help her forget it. Help her ‘overcome’ it. And worst of all he was standing her her path t stop her leaving but acting all relaxed like there was nothing wrong. Even the his silly imagery pet seemed to look at her, willing her to think about his words. He offered her more words but Piper didn’t take any of them. He even returned to his soft tone that confused her, a looked of kindness flashing across his face that in any other case might be handsome but all Piper wanted to do was punch it. Pipers breath speed up as her gaze slid to met his solf golden. He said it wasn’t impossible, she just made it seem that way but it was. He said time would make him understand but no one could. The had torn her defences down, exposed her fear then acting like nothing happened. And that was when Piper snapped. Fire ignited in her eyes, the air turning deadly still, dropping temperature in reaction to her anger. “You want me to humor you do you.” She said eyeing him like her next meal, like predator eyeing pray. Piper hadn’t killed at this school yet. No one had made the feel the need to. But Nikolai was playing with fire, pushing her very close to the edge. If he didn’t know something was wrong he soon would. “You want me to just forget everything that has been hunting me. You say you’re not my knight but you are sure acting like it.” Piper hissed. “Trust me humor is not the only thing that will make you leave.” Wind had now picked up whipping Pipers dark hair across her face. “I can’t just forget!” She yelled using the raging wind to push him against the lockers and pin him there. “I can’t just forget like you want. I can’t forget all the blood that’s on my hands!” She was screaming the words now as she advanced on him strong winds still tearing through the hall whipping her midnight hair across her pale face. She didn't realize all the words falling out her mouth. Didn't realize what she had just admitted to, Nikolai wasn't silly if he thought about it she had just admitted to a whole lot of stuff. “You say time will help but it cant and wont. Time only made it worse, only ever made the bodies pile up!” She stood in front of him now a sick grin on her face. With a subtle flick of her wrist she caused the air to compress drawing all the air form around him. “Tell me Nikolai do you still want me answer to be yes? You say time will help but you have very little time now and is it helping. Is it helping you understand me.” She dropped her voice low, loving the control that was resting on her finger tips. Some called her a mad or insane but she wasn’t. She just love teaching a lesson to those who have wronged her. Burns and scares were nothing compared to the words Nikolai said. She could not just forget.
(( Sorry! I swear I wont kill him lol. I thought of making her cave and saying yes to his offer but thought maybe this will be more fun. She will say yes, i think, but just after almost murdering him. I think she will end up regretting doing this but oh well it's for the plot.))
((Oh Nikolai is so nice! Unlike little miss Piper XD. So he feels bad for making her almost kill him, Piper would be out for the blood of whoever hurt her if she was in Nikolai situation lol. But I'm glad he expected it, does that mean he has an escape plan?))
((I hope so XD Mind you he can make illusions he could do mostly anything and Piper wouldn't know what's real and whats not, as long as he is still conscious.))
((Oh this will go great then XD. Though I guess Piper does deserve it, after all she is trying to kill him. Death it worse then a painful illusion.))
Like heck that wasn’t what he was asking her. Like heck he wasn’t asking her to forget. If not that then what? Guess she will never find out. Piper watched with a strange gleam in her eye as Nikolai took his last breath. A gleam that almost said that she enjoyed it. That she enjoyed watching him suffer, by her hand. He wanted the impossible from her. He brought up all her buried troubles. Ones she spent years hiding, pushing them deep down in hopes to forget. One she spent years building walls around, high thick iron walls that didn’t just stop her fears showing, it stopped her feelings showing. It was infuriating having a boy. One boy with one word tear all those years down. Strip her down to nothing! And he wanted her to get over it. Well now she would show him just how she fixed her problems. She would build those walls high and mighty again. She just had to eliminate any threats that would threaten to knock them down. She had learnt her lesson. He was a strong one this Nikolai. Stronger than any she had fought before, but that’s what made it so exciting. But what did she expect. He wasn’t just some street boy that drove her mad. No. He was a powers boy. Power ran through his veins giving him strength . Sadly that blood would now lack the needed oxygen to make it so grand. however is still gave him more fight then a plain boy. Despite his lack of oxygen fire still raged in his eyes. He was defiant, he was trying not to give her pleasure by crumpling easy. But his efforts were futile. She found pleasure in his defiance. They way the tried to stand up to her though she was winning. She was now in control oh his life. She always won the battle involving her fears, always. His resistant golden eyes met her icy blue and brown ones. They were not weak or pleading. They were resistant, fearless. She shot him a sickly smirk through the wisps of her dark hair that was being blown into her face. The wind that was everywhere. Dashing hurriedly through the halls though but Nikolai couldn’t breath it. It was all around him kicking up any loose bits of paper and making a mess of everything and Nikolai couldn’t get one breath in. Torture it must be, but torture he deserved. Through her smirk was that of a lunatic she couldn’t help but feel something. His defiance was pleasurable yes but there was… Something. Somewhere deep in her something stirred. She respected defiance, respected bravery and something told her to release him. Something somewhere was vouching for him. Sadly for him that was only a little part of her, and like usual Piper didn’t listen to her softer side. She had done that before and it got her into more trouble then not. More trouble than being kind was worth.
Piper just stayed and watched as the once golden light of his eyes dimmed. The way they seemed lost and out of focus. He was dying. The light that made Nikolai who he was was dying, being snuffed out by her hand by her power. But Nikolai was still strong. And the will to live made people stronger. Piper had learnt that but… She wasn’t expecting the fight that came from Nikolai. Wasn’t expecting him to fight so damn hard. She was basking in her joy but Nikolai was done, and Nikolai got the jump on her. She watched in amazement as the took a staggering step forwards before she could react. For a split second she thought he had gotten out. That maybe, just maybe he had broken through the bubble he was in and got to the air outside. It took a moment for Piper to realize what had happened. That's when she felt the hard clasp on his hand around her arms and it made some wired sense. The last thing he did, in his last fleeting breaths was reach for her. His hand clamped with surprising grip around hers. And without knowing his strength or power she let it. It may seem surprising but something there, something deep down in her wasn’t a killer. Right in her core deep down hidden by all the walls she build, the one thing she buried the hardest was a loving little girl. And this time that loving girl took over. If for some strange reason he wanted to reached for her as the last air escaped him then so be it. He could. She would give this defiant boy one last favor.
Then her vision went black.
Piper freaked. Where was she? She was sure she her eyes were open but she couldn’t see, it was just blackness. dense blackness as far as her eyes could see. Like she was hovering in a starless space, alone. That’s when her air was cut off as if the strange blackness wasn’t enough. Now Piper had almost suffocated herself once. She had done it deliberately. It was after her first victim and she wanted to know what it was like. What it was like to have the life slowly fall away from you, to have your lungs burn to take a breath that it was unable to take. She had driven herself to passing out before her power faltered and she was able to breath. She woke up a while later dizzy but alive despite her strangling herself. That’s also when she learnt she couldn’t kill herself with her powers. Not that she ever really wanted to but as a fact she couldn’t. She passed out before she could fully die and when she was out she couldn't control her power. If she had wanted her life on the street to end she would have to do if differently. In other words Piper knew when her air was cut off. She knew when the air became too thin to breath and she had to hold a breath. Why was this happening to her? She was meant to be in control of the air it wasn’t meant to kill her as well. She fought with herself, fought to regain the control over her power that she hadn’t actually lost. She wasn’t meant to be killed by her own power. She was aware of the dull throbbing in her hand from Nikolai tight grip on her arm but didn’t connect the dots. Like any person would if they were being suffocated, she couldn’t think right. Her lungs burned as flame ignited in them, almost as if it was burning her from the inside out. Her blood boiled from lack of oxygen as it struggled to push its way through her veins to her vital organs. Wouldn’t that be a better way to die. Just talking a bullet to the brain? The suffering would be shorter than suffocation surely. Though her body burned she never reached the point of passing out, was never was fully pulled into the darkness. Like endless torture of being pushed the the point of suffocation but never being able to be taken by the darkness, not let to just end the pain.
She didn’t know how long it lasted whether it was seconds or minutes but it felt like years. Years of floating the the black void with no air when the spell was broken. Whiteness blinded her as air rushed her lungs. Her legs crumbled under her and she feel in a heap onto the ground. She took gasping breaths to fill her lungs but ended up choking being they were never really out of air. She gasped for awhile, silent tears running down her face as she fought to fill her already filled lungs. Slowly her breathes returned to a more or less normal rhythm. The wind was still there, somehow she didn’t lose control over it during her suffocating session, but the strength of it was weak. It took a few moments to figure out what was going on. Almost as if she had awaken from a nightmare. But it didn’t take her long to understand. And for once in her life Piper panicked. It was awful. She understood that now. It was horrible having the air slowly squeezed from your body as you stood alone with no one to hear you scream was one of the worst things she had been through. And that was exactly what she was doing to the boy that tried to help her for goodness sake! Piper dropped her control over the air letting it still and the oxygen return to Nikolai once again. She just hopped it was enough. Hoped it wasn’t to late. She crawled towards Nikolais limp pale body, hovering over him as she begged him to just breathe! Piper didn’t care. Piper couldn’t care. But the little girl in her could. That little girl that she forced deep down in her core and hid. The one that had thick Iron walls all around her in order to prevent her to come out. To stop her interfering with Pipers life. She could care. She could to all the things Piper couldn’t. She was little but she could trust, if Piper chose to listen, which she never did. She screamed on the inside. She screamed at what Piper had become and what Piper did. She hated what Piper thought was ok, what and how Piper treated others. But Piper chose not to listen, she always got in trouble otherwise. Being kind never ever got her anywhere. She never listened until today. Until now. She had just been through what she was putting Nikolai through and that little girl in Piper couldn’t sit back and watch. That little girl was weak but that little girl was no murder. That little girl deep down was what Piper really was. What caring Piper was like.
He was right. In so many ways Nikolai was right. Forgetting or Getting over. They were different, in many many ways. Forgetting was not remembering something. Getting over was like winning a losing battle. Like overcoming something, a fear lets say. A fear like Pipers. Pipers fear to trust, fear to love, fear of her past. All Pipers fears she had to overcome not forget. “Nikolai please.” She begged. Still hovering over him. She knew the cameras could see this all, she knew a teacher could come any moment, or maybe another student. She had tried to kill Nikolai and everyone seemed to love him. She would be in major trouble if he died by her hands. But that wasn’t the reason she cared. For once Piper actually cared. Actually cared for him. The girl in her cared which made Piper herself care. As much as he may of annoyed her he didn't deserve death. “Nikolai just breathe gosh dammit.” She yelled felling tears burn her eyes. In a haze of panic Piper tried something she had never done before. She tried to force air into his lunges. Literally force him to breath. She closed her eyes and forced on the air getting a good grip on it before directing it into Nikolai lungs. Well tried to. She had no idea what she was doing but just hoped she didn’t do more damage. “I was wrong. I know I was wrong you were just trying to help and… And I messed up.” She muttered once her vision went black from the strain of what she was trying to do. It wasn’t working, she never used her powers for good. Making herself breath and someone else breath, she just couldn't. She couldn’t. She just hoped it did more help then harm. That it did something, anything to help him. “I should never have fought against you. Never had thought you a threat you were trying to help. I guess that proves you were right again. I am afraid to trust. I am afraid of you, still am” She admitted sadly doubting he could hear. But it was true. She should never had done this and now look at the trouble she was in. She could take Nikolai to the med bay, the doctors here were amazing. But that was doom for her. She would have to tell the truth and that would mean large consequences. And Piper, actual Piper couldn’t make herself turn herself in. That was to much. She just hoped and begged Nikolai could sort himself out.
Please, please, please don’t be the fifth. Piper silently begged looking down at Nikolais way to still body. It was so different from how she met him. He had been lively back then, he had actually been, well, alive. But now he was still, not even the twitch of a finger or a flutter of eyelashes and worst of all not even the familiar rise and fall of his chest, it wasn’t even moving! Thing was Piper put him into this situation. Piper was the one that had done this to him. Who had brought him to the point of death, and now he was threatening to die in her hands, to become her fifth victim and her first death in the school. And her first killing of someone so dang popular and so dang hot!It got to a point where Piper gave up her hope. Nikolai was to pale and to still. She wasn’t a doctor but she doubted anyone, anyone normal could go so long without a breath. Without even moving, especially not Nikolai. Silent tears ran down her cheeks. Tears she hadn’t cried in years and years until now, and over something as little as a death? Something she was so used to seeing and so used to causing. The rule kept coming back kill or be killed. She had to kill to live and seeing death was just another part of that. She was confused why this one, this particular boy, caused so much trouble. So much unnecessary trouble. Was she becoming soft? Or was it just the softer girl on the inside, that released herself, who was making her so strangely emotional? “Damnit Nikolai.” Piper whispered as she moved back away from his currently lifeless body so her was curled against the lockers. There was nothing more she could do. He was gone and now she had a even larger target painted neatly on her back by everyone in the school. She would also be able to add a suspension onto that. Which of course lead to a new foster home that would most likely hate her. As much as Nikolai insisted she was good that was one thing she couldn’t agree on. No one liked a cold blooded killed, not even Nikolai.
Piper had given up. In her head he was dead and the weaker girl in her grieved. She had admitted to herself he was dead but she wasn’t ready to say it to say it to others. Wasn’t yet ready to paint that target on her back though she knew those security cameras picked it all up. The security cameras which she quite promptly pulled the finger at. She was already in deep trouble what's the worst a little hand gesture could do? That’s when a loud gasp interumpied her mocking the cameras. Admittedly Piper jumped at the sound, she had not been expecting it. She had been to caught up in her own thoughts to expect Nikolai to actually breath again. Piper spun on her heel watching as Nikolais chest rose and fell like a normal persons should. The girl in side Piper cried, thankful that Nikolai was alive. For once Piper let the innocence take over as she darted to Nikolai side. “Nikolai, Nikolai, come on, you can do it.” She said hovering over him as she watched, half stunned, as he continued breathing. Inside parts of her cried for joy, she hadn’t killed him. That was a much better outcome. Either way she would get punished. But one way someone died the other they lived. It might be amazing but Piper did have some noramly human feelings and she didn’t really have a desire to kill people. They just sometimes deserve a smack over the head.
Now Piper was happy kinda Nikolai was alive, she would only ever admit that to herself. Though just because she was happy for once didn’t mean she lost all her traits that made her Piper. And one of those traits was her not being a fan of physical contact. So when Nikolai quite literally wrapped his arms around her and hugged her, Piper did not appreciate it. At all. She tensed as soon as he touched her, everything inside her screaming this was wrong and he should not be touching her. This was weird because she just tried to kill him and now she was hugging her. The sweet one inside her told her to let him cling to her, she was his life line and she should just let it be. But Piper did not like that idea. No one had ever hugged or even touched her before, this was not normal and needed to stop. But then damn good girl in her fought back being such a pain. If only Nikolai hadn’t set her free. Life would be so much simpler without here there screaming at every decision Piper made. She tried to hard to bury the sweet side of her and now Nikolai set her free. Now it would take months, even years to bury her again.
Thankfully before Piper had to make a choice Nikolai pulled back himself. As soon as he left go Piper scrambled backwards and climbed to her feet. Putting as much distance between them as the little hallway would allow. Then she just stared dumb found down at Nikolai. He had gone over three minutes without taking a breath and now he was alive, he was talking?! Man this boy was a full of tricks.Though some weren’t as good as others. Her heart skipped as he lay back down, the sweeter part of her screaming out that that wasn’t good. However as he started speaking Piper kicked herself for being so stupid. He was clearly fine. She shouldn’t even care in the first place. But that dang person Nikolai set free was messing with everything! So to distract herself Piper started pacing back and forth, her nails digging into the flesh of her skin.
For once Piper didn’t know what to say. So as Nikolai said stuff she just nodded her mind going other places as she paced. Nikolai was alive, which was good in a way, but he also knew everything about her. He knew her one weakness, her fear of getting close to others. He had seen her dangerous side and her weak pathetic side. He had seen the weaker side of her and how easily she was pushed from one feeling or another with just one word. It wouldn’t take a genius to figure out how much she can be controlled with her fear. How much power one can have over her if they knew everything. Like Nikolai. He might not use it against her but with one word slip someone else could. She would become a slave to their words and whatever they wanted. Nikolai might not know it but he was a danger to her. This whole school was.
There it was again. It was infuriating. She wasn’t really listening to him but she just couldn’t help hearing it. It seemed to be Nikolai favorite thing to imply using different words every time. What was with him and forgetting, or letting things be, or overcoming things whatever word he chose to use. Could you really just let it be even if you literally tried to kill someone? Piper could not. Despite how he gazed at her like it didn’t matter she wouldn’t just let it be. Despite how much the good girl screamed Piper knew she had failed at killing the threat and now she was in trouble. Even more then before. She had to get out of here and there was only one way to do that… Get kick out of this school. Pipers nails almost drew blood as she realized what she had to do. All this time she had been afraid of turning herself in when really turning herself in would save her. She’d be shoved in a foster home but those were easy to escape. Most of the time they didn’t really care for her so they didn’t take and precautions for stopping her escaping. It was harder if there she shared a room with some other kid. But if they did wake up a few threats would scare them from uttering a word. She had done it so many time she knew how to get out of every situation. Then she would be back at in her home where whoever she killed would be someone the police were hunting anywhere. A place were she would be Queen and everyone would fear her. They way it used to be before she went to a school of other magic users. Piper stopped pacing and faced Nikolai her brown and blues eyes now hardened with the reassuring fact she knew what to do. She whipped the tear tracks from her eyes, straightened her clothing and tucked her hair behind her ears. It wasn’t neat, she never was, but it looked much better than the crying girl she once was.
“You might want to go to the nurses to make sure I haven't done and permanent damaged.” She told him using her normal stone cold voice before turning and walking away down the hall. She had no intention of tell Nikolai anything about what she as thinking. If she was right she would never see him again, and that would be for the better. Then again it depended on Nikolai, he showed great love in following her which drove her insane. Hopefully this time he saw the logic in leaving her be. Going to find someone that wouldn’t threaten to kill him. Someone who actually let themself like him.
