I want to say firstly, thank you for your patience. I'm new to having a group here on Goodreads and I don't know how any of the functions work lol. I will get the hang of it soon enough.

For those of you that are almost finished with the book, how are you liking it? I know some of us don't own the books yet, or haven't started like myself and that is perfectly fine. Remember, each book is a month long and you can take as much time as you need to read the books. Some books this year will be significantly longer than others.

Someone commented that we should have discussions based on pages/chapters. I like either way. The thing with King is some chapters are hundreds of pages long. So I think we can stick with discussions in 50 page increments. If that is okay with everyone else. Also please remember that we all read at a different pace, so if you are going to have spoilers just let everyone know. The page number should be enough (if you haven't read to that page number than you might get spoiled), but it's always good to be safe than sorry.

I'm excited for this read a long this year and to be able to discuss with all of you.

Mely (mneg) I just started reading SK a few months back. Misery will be the 2nd novel I read. I got "IT" for Christmas, but I'd like to get a feel for King's writing before tackling that monster... haha. I'm about 70% done with the audiobook. Misery has really picked up the 2nd half and that's probably why I'm devouring it so fast. :)

Chantale Canadian Book Addict (canadianbookaddict) I finished the book last night so I am not going to say anything right now so I don't accidentally spoil it.

I have read a few SK books in the past but I think last time I read a book by him was in my early twenties so I am so glad you started this read along . It is giving me a kick in the butt to read some of his books again.

Anyway, I have enjoyed Misery . I read it on my Kindle. It was a copy someone gave me a few years ago but not sure the formatting to mobi messed up the book because some parts were a little difficult to read.

I'm on a big SK kick anyway so this readathon seemed to be the perfect push I needed to keep going! L O V E this book so far!! I'm almost halfway through and although it's been years since I've seen the movie, I have to say so far from what I remember the movie did an amazing job with adapting!! I'm alternating between physically reading and listening via audiobook and I highly suggest the audiobook!

Nancy (ntbooknerd) | 2 comments I just started Misery today I’m loving it so far 😀

Tonya (bookasaurustonya) I love Misery. I read it several years ago, but this time I listened to the audiobook and it was great as well. I liked Annie even though she was crazy. There was just something about Paul, I never really liked him.

I love reading all of your guys comments on how you are liking the book. I think I want to listen to the book as well. So I'll be finishing up Wolves of the Calla this week (I finally go back to work) and start up on Misery. Hopefully I'll have my first real discussion soon.

Andrea Pryke | 3 comments I will be honest I finished it on the 4th Jan i think, i really enjoyed it didn't like any of the characters but could not put it down - loved the fact that annie would not give up trying to hurt Paul hope you all enjoy it as well

Markie Hicks (booksandmoviesqueengmailcon) | 18 comments Misery is a really good book so far Annie is crazy but I still like her for some reason and I like how he tries to survive the whole book if I were in that situation I would lose my mind

Kimberly | 35 comments Just finished this today. I gave it 4 stars ...,that ending and what a crazy lady Annie is.

Mely (mneg) I saw this movie over 10 years ago and there are some parts that stick in my mind. I loved that this book was different when it came to body horror. Some things I was not expecting. I also gave it a 4 stars. The audiobook was great.... I still kept on picturing Kathy Bates as Annie LOL.

The dragging on is one reason why I had stopped reading his books. I loved this one and I am liking that it was short and the story was good though.

Rachel I just picked up the book from the library but I've also seen the film so I know some of the plot. I hope to start reading it soon, I'm a huge fan of King and want to read all of his novels. :)

Cassidy Gatewood | 7 comments I really enjoyed this book. I haven't read many Stephen King books but I love his writing style. I really enjoyed this book. It was creepy but in a more realistic way than some of his other books.

Nancy (ntbooknerd) | 2 comments I finished Misery a few days ago & I enjoyed it. It did drag a little in the middle but then picked right back up in my opinion. Now I want to watch the movie😁

Reading this makes me not want to watch the movie! Lol. I don't know if I could watch these scenes play out.

Eddie | 1 comments I have just finished reading this book. This is my fourth King novel and I loved it. 5 stars for me.

I felt as if I was in that room with Paul all the way, willing him to find way out. It is fast paced and full of suspense. Annie Wilkes is brilliantly terrifying.

Rachel I finished Misery over the weekend, it was an enjoyable thrilling read. It started off dragging for me but once it hit the middle section the suspense really picked up, and of course I love King's writing style.

Markie Hicks (booksandmoviesqueengmailcon) | 18 comments Misery was sooo good Annie wikes is one crazy lady I felt bad for Paul the whole time he was there I was rooting for him the whole time Annie went away
