I’m really loving it so far! A lot has happened in five chapters and I'm so glad that we got to see a bit of Lily's past, which is so sad to me. It seemed like even at a young age she knew that her parents' marriage was falling apart and having her father read to her was the only way to stop it from crumbling further. That broke my heart :(
So far I am not a fan of Iris at all, I know that she is younger and a bit more naive, but by the way she was described (smart, going to a specialized academy), I would have never guessed she'd do something so careless. Little sisters can be a pain, but they should never take it as far as posting personal property online for everyone to see.
I am not familiar with ADHD or Asperger's, so I cannot say for sure if the representation is accurate. However, from my little knowledge I would say that it most likely is. Especially Asperger's. I would like to believe that this novel was well researched, because based on the diverse books we've read in the past, I do see similarities between the characters (Ethan and Abelard). Also, Lily's impulsive behavior is extremely interesting to read about. I think it's cool that we are able to be inside her head and see her thought process before her actions.
The only thing I'm a bit confused about is when words get distorted to Lily. Maybe it's just a concept that I can't grasp, but sometimes they are distorted and sometimes she can understand things perfectly fine. I was trying to find a trend (when she's in trouble, meeting someone new, when she's scared, etc.) but I couldn't seem to find one. Or maybe it just happens sporadically, I'm not sure.
So far I think that this is going to be a great read and I can't wait to get further into it!

Personally I feel as though not much has happened yet; it's a bit of a slow start.
I'm not sure how realistic Abelard's reaction to the kiss was. I was also a little confused when Lily says that Abelard doesn't talk to anyone but then he communicates right away with Lily.
But then on the other hand I agree with you Ana. There are parts of Abelard's character that seem very realistic and I also see similarities between Abelard and Ethan. Although I definitely think that Abelard's autism is not as severe as Ethan's.
I am glad that the pair already know each other from going to previous schools together. I shouldn't laugh but I found the lunch box back story really funny!
I agree with you Ana. I enjoyed seeing a little snippet into Lily's past and am intrigued to find out more.
I think the confusion with words must be to do with her mind always wondering and too many thoughts n her head all at once. Or it could be to do with her dyslexia.
I really don't think it's okay what Iris did. But I also think that she didn't mean any harm by it.
I'm curious to know if there is a reason behind Richard drawing Abelard or if he just likes to draw and chose to draw Abelard for no particular reason.
Also Coach Neuwirth is a bully! I cannot stand him! He SHOULD NOT be allowed to treat or speak to his students the way he does. I really think it is disgusting the way he treats Lily.

Oh my gosh yes Maria! Me too!!
Yeah, it is... Maybe it is her ADHD then. Like the speed that her brain moves. She thinks a lot of things at the same time and finds it hard to concentrate. I'm not sure...
