Welcome to Haven's Harry Potter Reading Challenge! We're happy to have you here!

Introduce yourself! Share a little bit about yourself -- your favorite books, which genres you most enjoy reading, etc. Please also share how familiar you are with Harry Potter! Is this your first time reading it? Are you rereading it?

I read the first Harry Potter books as a kid, and I loved them so much. I used to think that Harry Potter would break out of Hogwarts and grab his Invisibility Cloak and Nimbus 2000 and fly to my window to rescue me from my dreary life. So yeah, Harry Potter was a big deal to me growing up.

I've only read the books once. I read the last two books in high school, but the first book few books I read when I was in third and fourth grade. So it's been a while.

I'm really excited to reread these books. Especially the first few. In a way, I feel like I'll be reading them for the first time. I can't wait to rekindle the excitement I felt when first flipping through the pages of Harry's magical adventures.

Chelle (pandora_rose_xo) I first read Harry Potter when I was a child. I adored the books so much, I re-read them over and over.

I even did an essay at university on the school system of Hogwarts, I also created a Harry Potter society and had an hour-long radio show all about HP... ask Miko how obsessed I am.

I am a proud Ravenpuff, I define as both as it is an equal split, some days I am more Ravenclaw some I am more Hufflepuff (that is the simple version). In Ilvermorny I would be in Horned Serpent. My wand would be 12 and a quarter inches, laurel with unicorn hair at it's core, with Supple flexibility. My patronus is a dolphin - yes I am on Pottermore. I also RP HP and write fan fiction... I am (somewhat) obsessed, but it's a healthy obsession... right?

*slides in all cool like... probably runs into a wall or something... gets up and brushes it off like I totally meant to do that*

Soooo um, this is my first time reading the books, even though I used to own a copy of every book and even though some of them were pre-ordered for me so I could collect them as they came out. I guess I just never really got around to them... I'm going to blame required school reading lol. However, despite having not read the books until now, I was obsessed with the movies and all things Harry Potter in general.

I'm a proud Slytherin, and Mayra can confirm just how well I live up to my Slytherin title lol. My Ilvermorny house is Pukwudgie. My wand would be a 12 3/4 length vine wood with a dragon heartstring core and rigid flexibility. My patronus is a loving and fluffy St. Bernard doggo. :)

Savitri | 3 comments Hello everyone! I’m very excited for this and am grateful that this group exists. Now every time I want to squee about a passage or share a reaction I’ll have you all at my mercy 😂

My name is Savitri and I came here through B&Q Writer’s Haven, which I joined during Nanowrimo. I enjoy reading all sorts of things, but when I’m stressed out I tend to gravitate towards romance and mystery. Some books that I really enjoyed last year include Uprooted by Naomi Novik, Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen, Into the Water by Paula Hawkins, and Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. Some great nonfiction books that I read were Freedom is a Constant Struggle by Angela Davis and Healing the Soul Wound by Eduardo Duran.

I read the first few Harry Potter books back in middle school or high school, but most of what I remember is probably from the movies 😜 I’m looking forward to re-reading the series and seeing how the experience differs now that I’m older. And now that I’m doing more creative writing I’m also really interested to see how Rowling world builds and structures her stories. All in all this is just a really neat event and I’m really excited about it. Happy reading!!

Nasche (givemebooksandfood) | 4 comments I'm RPC on the Haven server and I'll be reading the books for the first time. I loved the movies as a kid but since the books belonged to my brother (and he ain't sharing) I never got to read them xD
As for favorite books and genres, I lean more towards sci fi, fantasy, strategic and action novels. I have trouble getting through romance novels and used to roll my eyes at people who read them exclusively (I don't do that anymore though). I'm really looking forward to reading through these books :)

I am a great fan of Harry Potter. I started reading the first part last year and till now I have completed all the books.
Although I have read all the books but I can't help myself reading them.Only I just have to open the book and start reading and I get lost in time. I am very happy that I am a member of this group and I would love to join the discussions.
