The Fox Was Ever the Hunter by Herta Müller, Philip Boehm (Translation) -- longlisted for the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation Nominee for Longlist (2017)
Just Kids by Patti Smith; God Help the Child by Toni Morrison; The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon. These books actually won awards, but had to be nominated first!
I loved A Darker Shade of Magic, which was a Goodreads Choice Award Nominee in the Fantasy category. If you like fantasy and science fiction, there are some links to relevant awards on The Space Between at http://shaunesay.blogspot.com/p/blog-.... I will probably be reading Six Wakes for this prompt, as it was just nominated for something but I forget what, and one of my book clubs is reading it in a few months. In mystery, the Lefty nominees were announced not too long ago, and I think the Agatha nominees were announced sometime this week.
