2) The Secret Wife by Gill Paul ~ I loved the premise and the story, but not the writing style as much. Still, it was a decent read.
6) The Promise Between Us by Barbara Claypole White - very eye opening read about OCD. The story bounces around between the perspectives of the different characters which I enjoyed.
7) The Silent Sister by Diane Chamberlain ~ good read, but characters were under-developed and it was hard to connect to most of them or care about what happened to them. Good story though.
8) Flight Patterns by Karen White ~ there is always a dark twist to Karen White’s books that takes you by surprise! Good read!
10) The Wife Between Us:A Novel by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen ~ listened on audiobook and really enjoyed the twists and turns of this story!
11) How to Walk Away by Katherine Center ~ I think this is my favorite read for 2018 so far. It is a quick read - a great story and very well written!
12) The Subway Girls by Susie Orman Schnall ~ so excited to receive an advance copy of this book. It was a great read!
14)Sold on a Monday by Kristina McMorris ~ I enjoyed this book - it took me awhile to really get into it, but as it progressed, I became interested in the characters and the story. It all starts with a photo and a news article. The photo that is ultimately published is actually a staged photo and thus begins a winding tale of the repercussions and unintended consequences of submitting a half truth to be published in a newspaper. The photo of a mother presumably advertising her children for sale goes "viral" - as much as it can spread during the 1940's and two newspaper employees are caught up in the saga that unfolds as a result. The end has a surprising twist that I was un-prepared for, but was happy with the ending - even though it definitely ends suddenly and what felt like a bit too soon. I would have been okay with a bit more! Overall, I very much liked Lily and Ellis and willingly followed along as they worked to rectify the damage that had occurred once the deceptive photo was published.
