I don't know if I want to see the movie, but if I do, I always like to read the book first.

Aubrey Sale (girloftreachery) | 23 comments I've read the book because it was said that Taylor Swift is playing some role there. Excited to see it!

Cool!

message 6: by Abby (new)

Abby (vtswimmer15) I don't think I'm going to see the movie.. it just seems so off from the book and not at all what I imagined it would be. Have to say that I'm a bit disappointed by it.

message 7: by Cas (new)

Cas (cascannotread) I have actually read The Giver, along with the rest of the series, and I really enjoyed it! I saw The Giver movie trailer, and I am a bit worried about it. It seems that they have changed quite a few things, and it looks like they are trying to cater to an older audience, rather than Middle-Graders or late Elementary.

I am not sure how the movie will go, with Jonas being older and all, because I think the book - and the series - really emphasises on the fact that majority of the characters are quite young.

I will probably go see the movie, but I don't think I have really high expectations for it. I already have so many issues with it, and I have only seen the trailer :(

message 8: by Sarah (new)

Sarah I've seen the movie twice now, and really enjoyed it. While it's almost nothing like the book, it has the same general theme. I didn't like it as much as the book, but it was still good!
