Alright so this story may seem familiar but its a bit further and not quite done yet.

Prologue
Once upon a time, Before Rystar was a magical, very well known and powerful knight; he was but a squire and a son to a hero. The hero that had defeated the previous evil wizard that tried to take over the world but at the cost of one of his arms so he retired and decided to instead be a blacksmith and he made pretty good weapons but the special thing about them is that most of the weapons he made were enchanted. One of the first weapons he made was Rystar’s lance and at the time it wasn’t obvious what the enchantment was, but as Rystar grew up the lance grew with him. After that weapon the (retired) hero decided to make many more weapons while also teaching Rystar how to fight and how to use his lance effectively. The lance also gave a jumpstart to Rystar’s magical capabilities but he still had a short while before he would start using magic. Then one time a couple years later when he was a teen, when he was delivering a weapon for his father…

Chapter 1:Moritor the Apprentice
He accidently ran into someone delivering scrolls to the same person. “Oof” went Rystar as he fell backwards onto his bottom. “Sorry about that.” The other person offered their hand and said, “No, it’s my fault.” Rystar took his hand and got up then grabbed the sword that he was delivering. “Good thing this didn’t get any dents” as he looked at it in one hand. The other person said as he was picking up his scrolls. “Yea, and that none of these scrolls got scratches.” Rystar keeps the sword in one hand pointed away from the stranger and another outstretched for a handshake. “The name is Rystar and I’m a squire.”
“My name is Moritor and I’m an apprentice.” Said the stranger as he accepted the handshake. They shook hands and continued towards their destination. “So Moritor, what kinds of magic spells do you know?” Asked Rystar. Moritor shrugged and said “Just the basics.”
“Alright.” Said Rystar. Then they walked in silence to their destination. They both gave what they needed to give to the person they were delivering their things to. When Rystar gave him the sword, the sword glowed for a short while then Rystar said “Weird, it usually does something else.” Then the person asked him “Like what?”
“Well, I could tell that weapon was enchanted but I don’t know what kind of enchantment it had. Try imagining something on it.” The person tries that and the sword glows again but this time it had a light blue color when it glowed. “Now say what you want on the sword.” Rystar said while looking at the sword. The person says “Ice.” The sword suddenly stops glowing and instead emits a cold aura and frost starts growing on the sword. Rystar says “Ah, an elemental sword, good choice.” The person says “Thank you and here’s some extra because you taught me how to use it.” The person gives him the money and a bit extra. Moritor was silent this entire time but as soon as they started walking away. “Enchanted?” he asks. “Yea.” Rystar replies. “How?” asks Moritor again. “I don’t know, ask my father.”
“Alright, I probably will.” Says Moritor. When Rystar went back to his home, Moritor followed and asked his father how the weapons were enchanted. His father told Rystar to get out(after Rystar gave him the money from the sword) and told Moritor how all of the weapons were enchanted. While this happened, Rystar took his lance out and went to the practice room.

Chapter 2:The Enchanted Lance
“Time to practice.” said Rystar. He flipped a coin that he usually keeps in his pocket and it lands on the side with two swords (the coin has 2 sides: one side is two swords and the other is a shield). “Attacking practice,” said Rystar after the coin lands back in his hand and he puts it back in his pocket. “Well, sorry dummies but I learned some new attacks.” He takes out his lance and starts attacking the dummies with some moves that his father taught him (mostly one-handed moves of course). His lance starts glowing but he doesn’t notice that it does. He keeps attacking the dummies as it starts glowing brighter. “Rystar!” said his father. Rystar stops attacking the dummies, looks at him and his lance stops glowing. “We need to talk about your weapon.” Said his father with Moritor by his side (eyes wide open in shock). “Yeah?” asks Rystar (semi-interested) as he puts his lance back in its sheath. All of them walk back inside to a table and sit down. “So, I’m pretty sure you already know it’s already enchanted.” Said his father. Rystar nodded and took out his lance. “Its enchantment apparently makes it the perfect size for you,” His father continued. “Usually a lance is too large for it’s owner but yours is the perfect size and it also grows with you,” Rystar nodded again as his father finished. “That lance is one of a kind and it has something else about it that you hopefully discover soon as I’m sure this age of peace won’t last long.” Moritor said, “Well, I have a feeling that the special thing about it is something to do about how it glowed while you were attacking the dummies.” Rystar became confused and asks “Glowed?” Moritor replied “Yes glowed, didn’t you see it glowing?” Rystar responded by shaking his head. Moritor just goes silent and thinks about what else the lance could do. The father got up and went to the anvil and moved it slightly to the right. “Rystar and Moritor over here.” Both of them go over to see what was uncovered. There was a trapdoor beneath the anvil. “Why did you never show me this before?” asks Rystar looking at his father with a confused face. His father answered, “Because you weren’t ready before.” His father went down a before unseen small ladder then a staircase. Rystar and Moritor followed him. He then stopped, pointed forward and said, “I can’t continue forward but you can Son.” Rystar nodded and continued. Moritor tried to but Rystar’s father held him back with one arm while watching Rystar go foward and said, “He must do this alone.” Rystar continued forward until there was a chest in front of him. The chest was constantly shaking.

Chapter 3: The Chest
As Rystar approached the chest, it started to shake even more then it suddenly stopped when Rystar was at it. Rystar slowly looked at it to make sure it wasn’t a trap. After he stopped making sure it wasn’t a trap, he slowly reached his hand to open it. He opened it and it seemed like nothing happened. Then a huge black cloud flowed out of out as Rystar jumped back and wielded his lance. “Ah, a foolish squire frees me…” said a mysterious voice. “I am not foolish!” said Rystar. The mysterious voice laughed and the darkness lowered and changed into what looked like a dark copy of him. “Let us see how strong you are!” it said and charged at him. Rystar blocked the first few strikes and slashed at him with the lance. The shadowy Rystar didn’t seem to be affected but it was confused and said “That’s not how you use a lance.” Rystar just said “It’s how I use it.” The shadow laughed again and it’s lance changed into a sword and attacked again. Rystar blocked it’s attacks while backing up. The sword then changed into a hammer mid-swing and Rystar jumped out of the way and it seems as though he jumped higher and farther than ever before. He didn’t know how or why but he didn’t worry about that as he was currently fighting. The shadow grew wings and said “Two can play that game.” Rystar realized he had wings since the shadow said that but he then went on the offensive. The shadow was forced to back up to avoid getting destroyed. “What? How are you stronger than your reflection?” the shadow said as it looked like it was about to die. “Because, I have a reason to fight.” Said Rystar “I shall defend those too weak to defend themselves…” While he’s talking it seems as though light is coming out from him and his armor. He knows this and continues to talk. “, I shall defend those that evil terrorize.” The light glows brighter and now his wings are glowing. “And I shall defend those close to me if they cannot defend themselves.” Now his weapon is glowing and Rystar says “BEGONE SHADOW!” He thrusts the lance into the shadow with so much power that a tunnel was carved out behind it. The shadow looks at Rystar’s weapon then back at Rystar and says “You won’t be able to protect everyone.” It then disappeared and the chest disappeared and a glowing door reveals itself.

Chapter 4: Behind the Door
Rystar sits down and his father with Moritor walk towards him. Moritor says with his eyes wide open “You have wings Rystar.” Rystar says “Yea, so? I’m not going to be flying anytime soon.” Rystar is tired out from using that much energy. His father looked at him then looked at the door then back at Rystar and said “I believe you are the key to open that door.” Rystar looked at him and asked “Why me of all people?” His father said “Because you are the only one to beat your own shadow, even I couldn’t do that.”
