Hello everyone. Just thought I'd share that Quail Ridge Books here in North Hills has several events per month including guest authors, signings, and panel discussions.
None of the authors or books for January or February are familiar to me but a few of you might be interested. Here are a couple interesting ones:
John Hechinger will be there on Tuesday Jan. 23 to discuss his book True Gentlemen: The Broken Pledge of America's Fraternities.
Local poet Jeffrey Beam will be there on Sunday, Jan. 21 to discuss his book Jonathan Williams: The Lord of the Orchards.
NC State Professor and sci-fi author John Kessel will be there Feb. 15 to promote his book Pride and Prometheus.
And there will be a panel discussion on Feb. 24 entitled Marriage Equality Lessons. Here is the summary: What role did volunteers and plaintiffs play in winning the right to marry for same-sex couples years before most thought possible? How can the lessons they learned be applied to other LGBTQ causes?
