Sci-Fi Group Book Club discussion

I recently read this with a different group and thought it was kind of a fun mess. The action at the beginning was ludicrously good but then the plot slowed way way way down for the Jack Sparrow...er, Jack Crow section. I wasn't surprised at all by the reveal of Lewis' background, and I thought the ending of the book never held up to the promise of the beginning. Also, there was too much melodramatic hand-wringing in the dialogue. It was well worth reading for fans of military SF but I doubt I would re-read it.

It's a book I'd like to get around to reading at some point. There was some member interest in reading it but as you can see nobody commented!

I am stuck in the Jack Crow part at the moment. I also liked the guy from the first chapter more.
