I have just finished reading all the Dr Ruth Galloway novels published to date. I'm getting withdrawal symptoms. Can anyone recommend similar good reads. They don't have to based on/around forensic scientists or archaeologists but great, realistic characters solving crimes.

I too loved the Ruth Galloway series and have just discovered Kate Ellis. She has written a whole series based around a policeman called Wesley Peterson and his archaeology friend Neil. Very similar to Elly Griffiths.
