There are several "best" lists out there, including Pulitzer winners of various categories, Man-Booker Prize, National Book Award, etc. This month, nominate a book from one of these (or another such list that you like) and let us know what list it's from. We may be picking from other lists in the future so we all want to know what's out there!

Mike I have two suggestions:
Booker Moon Tiger
Faber Waiting for the Barbarians

Pallavi (bookfetisher) The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller from Women's Prize for Fiction 2012 winner.

What list(s) are those off of, Leslie? I read Wolf Hall a couple years ago and I think it might be the National Book Award or something else, but I'm not familiar with the other books? They sound interesting though!

Leslie | 21 comments The short version is, click on the book title and look at the information provided by Goodreads just under the book's description.

So what we have so far is:

Man-Booker Prize:
Moon Tiger
Wolf Hall

Geoffrey Faber Memorial:
Waiting for the Barbarians

Women's Prize for Fiction:
The Song of Achilles

Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction:
The Beak of the Finch

And I'm going to add:

Pulitzer Prize for Fiction:
Lonesome Dove

(We had several suggestions so I just took the first two of everyone's suggestions).

I'll get the poll posted and look forward to seeing what some of these lists are all about! I may get a thread going where we see some other lists to work from for the future, to give us some more ideas.

We have a three-way tie, so I've posted a run-off poll that ends tomorrow night!

Well, since we had a tie again, I switch my vote to Wolf Hall, since I've got a full plate of books at the moment and I've read this one previously. I'm curious as to everyone's thoughts on it!
