I am very late with the questions, but life sometimes gets in the way of hobby!
Although, I enjoyed the first 100 pages of the story, I found it hard to get started with the "got to see what happens next pull".
Anyone else feel that way as well? There is just so much hype about these books I was expecting to be drawn in from the first page.
How did you feel about the way Claire dealt with her trip through time?
How do you think you would cope in similar circumstances?
Obviously Captain Jack is related to Claire's husband Frank, how much significance to the story to you think that holds?
And lastly are the stones something she will be traveling back and forth from?
You thoughts and other questions are appreciated and encouraged, but please don't give anything away if you have already read the novel.

Hi 😊well totally understand about busy life! I’m late on responding but here it goes I admit I saw the series on Starz before learning about the books but I have done that with Poldark the same way. Oh but do I get into reading these books! Love reading the best and sort of regret that I hadn’t known about either of the series until seeing the shows. Anyhow love both series . Love the time travel aspect of Outlander, it’s quite fascinating. I didn’t mind getting into the outlander I think mainly because had seen what’s to come in the story. Although loved the book version tons better. Diana Gabaldon is quite superb in capturing the transition of Claire even though at times I did feel rushed through the story. It could have had more emphasis on the moral aspect of the first marriage Claire was so desperately trying to get back to but I don’t know why Gabaldon didn’t...a mystery I suppose. Claire’s character gets acclimated very quickly into the 18th century that was fascinating to me. If I ever I get to time travel I hope I can do it as easily as Claire;) Her dress does not seem to catch too much attention as I thought it would from the small town folks which castle leoch is supposed to be. Love the whole Laird idea with lots political aspects within the small village. The way Jamie handling the Hall and Oath taking ceremony, is exquisite! His character is quite exquisite!!! Reminder continuously that he’s a fictional character! Claire is also remarkable woman and they both deserve each other. I think maybe that’s why I didn’t particularly mind that they are together. Frank was simply a different soul. Claire was meant to be with Jamie! Jamie’s love was always too strong to pull her towards Jamie.

So... Part I is 100 pages long and I thought would be a perfect way to start our read along.
Prior to or on Jan 31 I will post some questions/statements for us to discuss
This is first time I have lead a group, so I hope we have some fun!
