Adrian opened the door, leading Esmeralda inside.
"Welcome, welcome," he said, ushering a scientist over to him.
"Scan her," said Adrian simply.
"Welcome, welcome," he said, ushering a scientist over to him.
"Scan her," said Adrian simply.
"Scanning," said Angel, red lights showering Esmeralda's body.
"Health: Acceptable," chimed Angel, "Qualifies for: all but artificial robotics."
"Shame," said Adrian, "She'd make a good cyborg."
"Health: Acceptable," chimed Angel, "Qualifies for: all but artificial robotics."
"Shame," said Adrian, "She'd make a good cyborg."
He turned to her, handing her a list of enhancements from vampirism to voice manipulation.
"Here," he said, "We enhance our residents. If we want to be free we'll need to be stronger, faster and smarter than they are."
He laughed.
"Will you cast off the chains of mortality?"
"Here," he said, "We enhance our residents. If we want to be free we'll need to be stronger, faster and smarter than they are."
He laughed.
"Will you cast off the chains of mortality?"
Adrian threw the list over his shoulder.
"Good," said Adrian, "Because our head isn't in today I was gonna do it myself."
He brushed past her, typing a few things in on a screen.
"But human isn't normal here," he said.
"Good," said Adrian, "Because our head isn't in today I was gonna do it myself."
He brushed past her, typing a few things in on a screen.
"But human isn't normal here," he said.
"I haven't the time to explain it to you," he said, taking a scalpel into his hand, "I have an autopsy to conduct."
"What is a frog against a human," mused Adrian, "It's for research - don't worry, we didn't kill him - he was taken from a morgue."
"I noticed," he commented, "You know, no one calls me Adrian, it sounds weird to hear my own name."
He twirled the scalpel in his hand, gathering equipment up.
He twirled the scalpel in his hand, gathering equipment up.
"Call me Adrian by all means," he said, "Just don't be surprised when no one else says it."
He gave the girl a wink and then gestured for the men to roll the table towards him.
"45 years old," mused Adrian, "Oh well, let's blast him with Poseidon's Salt."

"45 years old," mused Adrian, "Oh well, let's blast him with Poseidon's Salt."
Adrian paused for a moment, before running his knife down the length of the man's arm.
"Drain his blood," said Adrian, "Just make him into a robot or something."
He dropped the scalpel and began to wash his hands.
"Father," called one of the nurses, "What voltage?"
"Depends on the capacity," replied Adrian.

Mavis turned up again, walking along the edge of the bars. If she fell in she would die, but as a cat, that was unlikely.
Adrian noticed Esmeralda's nausea.
"You okay?"
Adrian noticed Esmeralda's nausea.
"You okay?"
"Excellent," he said fairly, "Then that is your job. To cook."
He pulled out a tag that bore her full name. It said Cook beneath it.
"Wear this."
He pulled out a tag that bore her full name. It said Cook beneath it.
"Wear this."
"You will have to continue self study," said Adrian, "I'm sure residents around will help you too."
"How old are you?" he asked doubtfully. Denial of being a child was usual a symptom of being a child in his experience.
He looked at her blankly.
"It's easy to do," he said, "If no one gives it to you - you have to grow straight up."
"It's easy to do," he said, "If no one gives it to you - you have to grow straight up."
"I killed many people," said Adrian, "But to be fair, he shot me first."
He lifted his shirt to show her to scar on his stomach.
"But I won," smirked Adrian.

"But I won," smirked Adrian.
"Psh," he scoffed, "I've had girls last longer than you - see Melanie over there?"
He pointed to a blonde woman operating a complicated machine.
"She lasted 3 whole days," he said, his voice holding an impressed air to it, "That's longer than the guys usually last."

"Actually," said Adrian, "I have one of the highest IQ's in the western hemisphere - partially because I finished school."
"Excellent," he said, satisfied. He was very accustomed to getting his way these days.
His tablet started to beep, and he pressed answer.
"Sir."
"Angel."
"I thought it best to call you on here for more private matters."
"You don't really think, Angel."
"It is in regards to the Miller case."
"Save it for later, Angel, I'm with someone."
"Yes sir."
Adrian faced Esmeralda again.
"Look at you," he complained, "Taking up all my time - I trust you know how lucky you are."
His tablet started to beep, and he pressed answer.

Adrian was about to reply with some other egotistical comment when Melanie the nurse walked over.
"Father," she said, "I just checked you schedule, you're lagging behind."
"I'll get everything done," he said smoothly.
"But sir," she said, "I can take care of this girl for you."
"Father," she said, "I just checked you schedule, you're lagging behind."
"I'll get everything done," he said smoothly.
"But sir," she said, "I can take care of this girl for you."
Melanie glared at the girl. Who was she to take up her precious Adrian's time.
"Mr Fallon is very busy," said Melanie, "I can help you with anything you need."
"Mel it's fine," said Adrian, "I never get to do this sort of thing."
"But-"
"You worry far too much," he said with a smile.
"Mr Fallon is very busy," said Melanie, "I can help you with anything you need."
"Mel it's fine," said Adrian, "I never get to do this sort of thing."
"But-"
"You worry far too much," he said with a smile.
Mel simply gave Esmeralda a cold glare and walked off.
"Don't mind her," said Adrian, "She actually is crazy."
"Don't mind her," said Adrian, "She actually is crazy."
"I'll take responsibility for that," said Adrian, picking up Mavis and setting her on the operation table, "She is a bit overbearing but she gets the job done."
He pressed behind Mavis' ear, and the cat turned off.
He pressed behind Mavis' ear, and the cat turned off.
"I took her on a date once," said Adrian, "She was unbelievably boring. Pretty face, but far too ordinary for me. I know you find it hard to believe given how good looking I am, but I prefer weirdos."
"Hey," he said, "If that was at all possible, I probably would."
He turned a dial on the cat before switching it back on. The cat shook, before sauntering away.

Adrian winked at her, pulling out a box from which he took out some odd equipment. He set it up and turned it on, it making a buzzing noise.
"I'm gonna wait for this puppy to brew," he said, "And avoid my paperwork for the rest of the day."
"I'm gonna wait for this puppy to brew," he said, "And avoid my paperwork for the rest of the day."
"Where is the fun in that?" he asked, "You sound like Melanie."
He took out a pair of glasses, pushing them onto his nose and pulling on a lab coat.

"Blondie?" asked Adrian, "Why? Got a problem with the Aryen race, kid?"
He smirked at her annoyance.
He smirked at her annoyance.
"As you wish," he said with a chuckle. Melanie clasped eyes on them, and sauntered over, her long legs moving with precision. She reached them, giving Adrian a brilliant smile.
"Are you making things, sir?" she asked, "Here, I'll show the young girl to her room. Girls of her age shouldn't be around so many chemicals."
Adrian rolled his eyes as Melanie stared down Esmeralda.
"Are you making things, sir?" she asked, "Here, I'll show the young girl to her room. Girls of her age shouldn't be around so many chemicals."
Adrian rolled his eyes as Melanie stared down Esmeralda.
Adrian flashed her an amused smile.
Melanie blinked.
"Look sweetheart," she said, "I get that you're new here and all, but Mr Fallon is a very important man who doesn't have time to be entertaining children. So run along before you get yourself into big trouble."
Melanie blinked.

Adrian pressed his lips together so stop himself from laughing, and Melanie looked outraged.
"Seriously?" asked Melanie bluntly, "You chose this kid?"
Adrian shrugged.
"I'm trying to work here," he said, "You're causing trouble, Mel."
Melanie glared at Esmeralda.
"Listen here," she said angrily, "There is a pecking order in this institution and you'd better learn your place sooner rather than later."
She huffed, moving a blonde strand from her picture perfect face.
"I'll see you at the meeting later, Ade," she said to Adrian calmly before storming away.
"Well then," said Adrian, "You have a short fuse, doncha?"

Adrian grabbed his lab coat, pulling it over his suit.
"Cyborg operations are painful," warned Adrian, "You keep your heart and brain but your other organs are replaced and you're given additional nervous systems. I hope you have good pain endurance."
He turned to Hinoko.
"As for you," he said, "I'll need you to write up exactly what you want - your operation being previously unheard of."

Daemon nodded, undeterred "I know and I am ready" he promised. "And as a matter of fact I do" he promised
Adrian looked at him with approval, before gesturing to a tall chamber.
"This is my baby," introduced Adrian.
"Good morning, Daddy," spoke the machine in a smooth, feminine voice.
"Morning, Baby."
Melanie strutted in, and looked at Daemon.
"Clothes off please," she instructed, "Ade, you don't have to stay, I've got this."
"It isn't a problem."
"You have much to do," she insisted.
"You ruin all my fun," he complained, "This is my machine."
"Then what do I-"
"Stand there and look pretty, Mel."
She huffed.
"As you wish," she said, smiling fondly at him. If there was any backhanded compliment there, she hadn't picked up on it. Or rather, she didn't care.

((Brb Showa)) Daemon glanced at them all furtively, growling softly at Mel, and set his tablet on a side table, pulling his shirt over his head, exposing his muscular torso, and started to shimmy out of his pants, and finally kicked off his boxers. He did as he was told, not seeming to mind being naked amongst strangers.
Hinoko turned to Melanie. "I need a piece of paper and something to write with. " she said politely. She hoped she didn't get yelled at.
Hinoko spotted the hunk of exposed flesh that was Daemon. Her face turned almost as red as her hair. She averted her eyes quickly.
Melanie clicked her fingers and materialized a pad of paper and a black pen, handing them to Hinoko.
"Be thorough," ordered Melanie.
"See here," said Adrian, "He has a perfect physique."
"A soldier perhaps?" considered Melanie.
"Or, alternatively, we could have him walk around shirtless to boost the morale," suggested Adrian.
Melanie sighed and pouted.
"Into the machine, if you would," he told Daemon, "It will take a short while."

He nodded, smiling slightly at the compliments, stepping into the machine without hesitation, glancing back at Adrian curiously, turning around to face him. "I'm a great morale booster!" He quipped, grinning one of those close eyed goofy grins that made you want to poke their face to see if it was real or not.
After a while Hinoko was about to hand the pad of paper to Adrian but saw he was busy so she handed it to Melanie. It read:"I wanna be able to change from my normal human form to a lioness that's fur is the same color as my hair. I also want to be able to catch myself on fire at will without it hurting. I want to be pyrokenetic. I also want to be able to purr like a kitty while in my human form. I also want to be able to speak telepathically while in my lion form. I want to be able to control fire no matter what form I am in. And when I'm angry I want my hair to catch fire without burning it. Oo! Also, I want all the fire I touch or produce to be fire truck red! That is all."
She smiled at Melanie.
