Hi👋😊I’m Naomi from Northern California and 2018 is the year I’m *finally* going to read the Kristin Lavransdatter series by Sigrid Undset! Depending on which translation you pick up — it’s either three separate books or three books in one BIG volume. I was planning on reading the first book in the series, “The Wreath,” by March 1st. If you’d like to join me in this reading goal and discuss sometime after March 1st — I’d love for you to join me!❤️
Hi I’m Melissa. I’m currently trudging through LesMis for the first time. This is my first Goodreads group!
Hi, I'm Joy!Have always enjoyed reading and now understand that it is an important form of self-care for me.
Am looking forward to hearing what everyone is reading and having my TBR list explode.
Hi, I'm Rebecca, also from Northern California. Looking forward to seeing what everyone is reading--I love growing my TBR list. I try to read the classics, some non-fiction, Catholic literature and non-fiction, and lately I've been getting back into contemporary novels. I also love audiobooks and use our library's Overdrive app frequently!
I already know a few of you from the interwebs (Hi Adrianna!) but looking forward to getting to know everyone better :)
Hi, I'm Adrianna. Single divorced mom to three kids with special needs and/or chronic illnesses, owner of My Little Felt Friends (you can find me on Facebook, Etsy, Instagram under @mylittlefeltfriends, and Twitter under the name @ajcastro2011), and lover of books!! We live on a micro-homestead in Virginia.I haven't had nearly as much time to read in the last few years since becoming a single mom and full-time business owner, but lately I've been making the most of Audible and also using my Kindle more (because the kids bug me less when they see the Kindle in my hands than when I have an actual book haha).
I'm doing the 2018 Modern Mrs Darcy challenge this year and look forward to this one too! Can't wait to get to know you all better. I only just joined Goodreads really recently and didn't know there was a group option like this :)
Hi, I’m Nina and love to hear book suggestions from other like-minded people (aka Fountains of Carrots RCSC). Every year I make a reading plan for each month, which includes a classic, a fun read, a spiritual read and a non-fiction. So this will be a great motivator for me!
I'm Annie :) Newlywed living in Texas, wife to a medical student who will be participating in the residency match in March, so who knows where we'll be living come summer! After finishing graduate school in August 16, I felt motivated to read more for pleasure. I've always been a bookworm, but 7 straight years of higher education had sapped all of my pleasure-reading time and energy.
Last year I made a reading list for myself, which I stuck to religiously for a few months, but then I started traveling a lot for work, and then I got married, so the second half of the year was a bit more sporadic - but I got close to my goal! This year, I made my reading list a bit more flexible based on lessons I learned last year, so we'll see how it goes :)
I've been focusing on beefing up my "classics" repertoire - last year my big read was Middlemarch. This year, I'm adding some more nonfiction into the mix as well as some lives of the saints - currently Joan of Arc by Mark Twain!
Also, my husband and I recently got into Agatha Christie audiobooks, which has been really fun on long drives!
Hi! I'm Elizabeth! Mom to 3 wonderful girls and wife to 1 handsome husband. I live in North Texas and am excited to share book recommendations with everyone!
I'm Charlotte, from Belgium. I'm getting married on the 14th of April (3 more months!) to my wonder fiancé Pieter. I've been on Goodreads for six years now and loved doing the reading challenge. Like Annie, I want to focus this year on reading classical works. That's why I started the ABC - Austen Book Club with a couple of friends. First book on our reading list is Emma! Other books I want to read this year: Middlemarch, Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson and The Discovery of heaven, which is a Dutch classic.
I also want to read at least one theological book this year.

Hi all! My name is Jessica. Mama to 3 under 5, sometimes blogger (ohmyoldsoul.wordpress.com and on Insta @jschae90), work from home, and lazy reader as of late. Come 2018 I was so sad at how few books I was able to finish last year. This year I’m hoping to get through what remains of my 2017 reading list (some Bishop Robert Barron, A Canticle for Leibowitz, and some Anthony Esolen). And this is the year- I’m reading Kristin Lavransdatter! (Spelling?) I can’t wait to see your recommendations and follow along with all of you!
Hi everyone! I’m Mary, married for 5 years with 2 boys and baby due in June! I usually read a mix of books-historical fiction, non-fiction (parenting, self help), spiritual books, cookbooks and novels by the likes of Alexander McCall Smith. This year I’d like to focus on reading more novels. I’ve come to realize that the Bible and great spiritual memoirs are truly the only ‘self help’ books I need. I’m more of an old soul and I enjoy books that are charming. :-)
Hello! I am so excited about this group - and so glad I'm not the only nerd who uses Goodreads obsessively ;) I am wife to a wonderful husband and mom to a ridiculous and adorable 9 month old son. Reading has always been my one true hobby. I'm looking forward to sharing reading recommendations, which will cause my "to-read" list to get even more impossibly long. I also would love to hear tips about how to find time to read with small children, and tips for finding good Kindle deals as I am new to the ebook world. Glad to be a part of this group!
Hi there! My name is Killian, I have a 17 month old daughter and live in Northern California as well. One of my big goals this year is to read way more. I love getting book recommendations from the podcast. Here are some on my to read list:Kristin Lavransdatter
The Violent Bear it Away
Hannah Coulter
The complete stories Flannery O'Connor
The Blue Castle
Cranford
Wives and Daughters
I also am trying to get caught up on the Well Read mom list for the year of the Pilgrim.
Good morning Ladies! I'm Nanci, a almost 53 year old wife to Brian for 32 years and mom to four (Carissima-28, Joshua-26, David-24 & Mary-22). I grew up with a love of reading and would spend the summers growing up reading as many boos as I could check out from our library. I homeschooled all of my kids, and we spent countless hours reading. The kids love to share that a punishment for them when naughty was not going to the library. Now that they're grown, I've got a bit more time to read and have started going through John Senior's Incomplete Life-Long Reading List.

Sounds like a fun book club!
Where in Belgium are you from? I'm American but my mom is Belgian and I have family in Brussels and Mons.
Hey, I'm Courtney. I live south of Seattle. I've gotten back into reading non-picture/board books for pleasure since joining the book club at my church last year. Love spiritual fiction and anything by C.S. Lewis, Peter Kreeft, Chesterton, and Michael O'Brien. And I love metrics...so this bookshelf tracking is soooo gratifying! :)
Hi I’m Hannah. I’m a homeschool mama of three from NY, 6yo, 3yo, and 3mo. I used to read voraciously, but have trouble fitting in reading my own books now. Hoping to start small this year and just read some books for pleasure.
Hi, I'm Laura, 35yo married mother of three living in VA. Like Joy said ^ reading is self-care for me. I love it and always have. . . . I didn't read for pleasure so much while in school and then while working but now that I'm a stay-at-home mom I have a bit more time for it (the laundry can wait ;-) and I love that. . . . I don't do reading lists or goals right now. I just keep a huge to-read list and whenever I'm ready for another book I pick from that.
Hi! I'm Anne! I'm here b/c I've learned that FoC people are my people ;) I use Goodreads to mooch ideas from other booklovers, so if you're up for letting me follow you I'd love to if I can figure out how to do it! I've never done a Goodreads group before, so I'm learning as I go!
Hi, I'm Courtney, SAH wife and mom of 3 living in Northern VA. Very excited about being in a Goodreads group, as one of my main sources of books to read next heretofore has been following favorite authors on here and cribbing from their reading lists. I know the Cordelias will have good suggestions too! I'm pretty omnivorous in my reading tastes, but can get picky about fiction--my tastes there tend toward classics and mystery novels, with a smattering of sci-fi and fantasy.
Hi I'm Olivia from Cold Lake Alberta. I'm a wife, mom to a toddler, and Grade 6 teacher so I read a lot of recommendations from my students (some good, many bad). I'd like to see what you are all reading to your kids and what they are reading.
Hi I’m Bobbi. I’m a wife, mom of 4 (ages 6-16), blogger (Revolution of Love.com) living in the Central Coast CA. You can find me on social media @bobbi_rol. I’m doing Modern Mrs Darcy’s Reading Challenge and love getting ideas for new titles here. Unfortunately, my list is so much longer than my free time but audio books help a lot with that problem. 😃
Hi, everyone! I'm Melissa Cecilia. I'm from Los Angeles, CA. I'm an author (I have two novels listed on Goodreads), a blogger (Journey of a Catholic Nerd Writer), and a freelance writer. If it's in the writing wheelhouse, I'm all over it. lol. I would like to see more book club-type discussions. You know, we all pick a book and read parts over a specific period of time, discussing it along the way.
Hi I’m Alexandra! I live in the Maritimes in Canada and I am a SAHM and doula. Books have been my passion for as long as I can remember. I have a degree in English Literature and while taking Lit courses I discovered some of my favorite books/authors. Elizabeth Gaskell being one of them. My reading goals for this year are all about reading the classics (children’s included) I have meant to read. I love book challenges, lists and I look forward to all of the discussions.
Heya! I'm Margaret (Maggie) from Southern California, homeschooling mom of 5 girls. I have been reading a lot of modern 'fluffier' reads lately and would like to add in some classics (and non fiction). I'd especially like to finish Kristin Lavransdatter and get into Elizabeth Gaskell, Flannery O'Connor, and Dorothy L. Sayers (honestly, the more I add here the more I think of that I want to read). I already see some familiar faces here from Facebook!
Hi, I am Suzanne! I am a SAHM, homeschooling 2 kids while trying to keep the younger two from causing chaos. I read a lot on my Kindle while nursing. Lately, I have been rereading the Peter Whimsy mysteries. I never realized the depth to those novels as a teenager! I read a lot of fantasy and would like to dip into the classics more.
