Justin (justinbienvenue) I just recently saw this and I totally get what you mean. When I was watching it I was like Ok but then it went in a direction where I didn't realize that was going to be the premise of the film. I thought it was going to be a horror or at the very least a thriller but not so much as its more of a sci fi dystopian romance.

Agreed they could have shown more in depth scenes when he was alone and I feel they could have made the Android more chilling and what not. Also the ending was rather subtle and meh for me.

Justin (justinbienvenue) The Babadook could have been way more horror themed. I know they say it's a horror but if you watch it it's more a psychological horror and not even in the good sense. To me the movie starts off as a horror but then the sub plot of the mother takes over and to me really waters it down. You don't really get the feeling of it being a true horror movie and more of a psychological horror with the undertones of what makes horror creepy and just dims it down. I wish it was more focus on the Babadook itself and less on the mother.

Annabelle isn't a horror to me either. Just a bunch of cheap and simple things to give it a horror feel but never truly settles as such.
Show the doll being creepy and not it being used as possession or whatever it was supposed to do.

The Boy was awful and I just wish the ending didn't suck. The suspense was great until the end and I feel if it was a horror movie straight up it would have worked way better.
