I really how the book starts off with Aron riding his bike to the slot canyon. Within the first 30 pages of the book he gets his arm stuck in the chock stone. He is very descriptive of the pain and the situation he is in. I like how he also considered all of his chances of getting out of the slot canyon.

I enjoy the fact that the rock falling and trapping Aron makes the theme of being prepared because he was not. He didn't tell people where he was and was not prepared with knowledge of knowing what he is doing, like when he tried to jump onto the rocks instead of checking his supplies and being smart about it.
