Definitely The Ankhs: Red Marks The Child by Amira Awaad. The writer weaves with words! and even that's not doing her justice. I must say, I am utterly fascinated by this woman. Her characters are something else.
I know you asked for novels, but if you love fantasy and haven't read Robert E. Howard and Fritz Leiber, you aren't living.
Some international fantasy:Bangladesh: Djinn City by Saad Z. Hossain
France: All That Glitters by Gita Trelease
Greece: Circe by Madeline Miller
Iraq: Inanna by Emily H. Wilson
Ireland: Red Branch by Morgan Llywelyn
Nepal: The Gurkha and the Lord of Tuesday by Saad Z. Hossain
Poland: The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski
Mali: Masquerade by O.O. Sangoyomi
Mexico: Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
Russia: The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden
Serbia: The Tiger's Wife by Téa Obreht
South Africa: Zoo City by Lauren Beukes
Wales: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
Yemen: The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty
