The book that I read over the winter break is the full version of Persepolis, the first book we read in class by Marjane Satrapi. Persepolis is about a girl growing up in Iran when it was going through religious and political turmoil. You will read about her life story of when she has been through and what challenges she had to overcome. This book looks like a comic with a lot of dialogue. I think the black and white theme to this story sets a consistent mood throughout the entire story. I wanted to read the full version of the book because I enjoyed the first one, and the movie that we watched with it. Also since I have read a version of this book once, I can quickly read this one as well. A quick way to describe this book would be just a more in-depth version of Persepolis. The story is exactly the same except just with more details that was not in the version we read. Every chapter has more scenes with pictures and dialogue. I recommend this book to many people, especially people who does not like "real reading" because this book looks very similar to a comic.
