In this thread, we can all recommend books to one another!

I personally am in a mood for a good YA fantasy. Any suggestions?

mrbooks | 585 comments Hmmmm have to think and find out what you already read as I don't want to recommend anything you have already read.

You can use the compare books feature on my profile if you’d like. :)

Bec (_becandbooks) Okay, Kelly I used my 'compare books' function with you and based on books on your to-read shelf this is what I am rec'ing:

Dorothy Must Die (I admit I never finished the series, but it's a Wizard of Oz retelling and it was great!)
The Host (More sci-fi than fantasy but really engaging and a lot better than the Twilight series imo)

I also rec The Mermaid's Daughter (NA not YA, but a f/f little mermaid retelling that is ahmazing!) and Everless (this was just released or about to be released, my page wouldn't load so I couldn't check for you, but I read the ARC and it's so so good)

I have had Dorothy Must Die on my tbr for the longest time! I really want to read that one some time! I started the Host a while ago, but never finished it. Perhaps I’ll give it another try! I haven’t heard of the Mermaid’s Daughter, but I’ll check it out! Thanks, Becca! :)

I rave about The Mermaid's Daughter. It was a release from last year that didn't get much volume, but I absolutely adored it and I'm typically really picky with my retellings.

Ooh, it sounds really interesting! I've also been dying to read Everless, by the way! (I didn't notice you mentioned it in your first comment. Haha)

mrbooks | 585 comments First of all I would recommend you finish the Ransom Rigs trilogy Well worth reading. Miss Peregrine and her peculiar children is a YA series that I consider a must to finish. See I did get a chance to do a book comparison. If you are into fantasy, try Trudi Canavan she is pretty good.

I have Hollow City on my tbr, and have been meaning to finish it some time! I’ve heard a few mixed reviews for the series, but I enjoyed the first book a lot. I just looked up the Black Magician trilogy and it sounds interesting! I’ve added it to my to-read. Thanks!

I had a thought of another series you could read, it is Called Magic Kingdom for Sale Sold by Terry Brooks, it is a light hearted fantasy easy to read and enjoyable. Well I thought so many and many a year ago.
